where do I meet smart people? like I want to surround myself with big thinkers and not the human sludge friends I currently have who only ever talk about not having a girlfriend or whatever the current meme is.
right now I'm learning C+ and am trying to start Arduino. I don't want to just be a burger forever.

Smart people don't waste years studying to become workers. They learn by themselves and they become rich before they hit 20. Go to Silicone Valley, or really any rich neighbourhood in California and ask people if they "wEnT tO sTeM sChOoL".

Start a YT channel on something smart people are interested in. You don't even need to be all that good at it. You will then be invited to conferences and get to interview people in that field. To take a random example, Angry Astronaut is one such.

This is true, my former computer maintenance teacher would tell us to go to TED talks if you wanna hear more cool innovative stuff at the time (this was in 2010 mind you).

I found out that just going to futurology subreddits, and actually reading medical journals. You find smart people much quicker.

You'll find the most intelligent people in those places that require the highest intelligence. That is the sciences. Also learning by yourself and going to university is not mutually exclusive. Especially, in the postgraduate programs. Not everybody cares about money that much, either.

People that get to money are not necessarily smart. For example, celebrities or people that inherited it.

Oh, right. The people who memorize science books and regurgitate the information are sO sMaRt. Here, take this copium cookie for being a good doggy dog.

Nobody is smart. If you were smart you wouldn't need people. You'd think up shit yourself, you'd consult specific people you'd narrow down on with your big brain - you wouldn't need to "surround yourself" and be a sheep ass mf getting indoctrinated by grifty scam-my talk. The internet or library is plenty a resource, it replaces the idle and inefficient chit chat of le humans surrounding me

And maybe dabbling in opposite sex relations is the smart thing to do, instead of drowning in le cooding sloppa

I appreciate it. My current company only complains about not having women while never really pursuing them.
I think in the coming months I'll just log off for a while and pursue my goals. It would be nice to have human beings to consult on that rather than books and vidya, however.

"smart" people usually just know a lot about a given sibject. they aren't inherently better in every way. even people with super high iqs sound like tards depending on the subject.
