Seriously, how the fuck do you get good sleep consistantly? My entire life basically every other night i sleep like shit and every other night I sleep like a log. I'm so fucking done

You're not supposed to go to bed right after staring at artificial lighting. You need to walk outside in the dark for like an hour for your body to produce the sleep hormone melatonin. Also, no caffeine (some sodas have some, dark chocolate) in the afternoon. Do some physical/mental activities too instead of sitting all day doing nothing.

What works for me (sometimes) is playing something mildly interesting on tv and getting into my usual sleep position while watching it.

It wasn't really the screen lights for me, but rather doing anything too stimulating, especially action games that kept me awake for hours. That, and racing thoughts which TV helps with

I’m right there with you OP. Worst thing too is I have migraines that only go away if I nap, but napping also makes me feel groggy and terrible and guarantees I won’t be able to sleep that night.
Hell, this happened to me today. Had a horrid migraine while driving at 5, got home, fell asleep until 9, and now here I am awake at 6 in the morning.
