My BF spends all day on the internet doomscrolling and memescrolling. At first I found it endearing because he is so smart, but then I could not keep up with the bazaar of information, a lot of it abstract and useless or random in the end. When I ask him what does he do with all that constant flow of info he says he uses it for prevention, understanding the future, preparing etc. But he does not really prepare? He says "we have to buy gold" but does nothing, gets angry when I tell him well just buy it (he does not). For 4 years "we are going to war" "third world war happening" "nuclear bomb" etc. I ask him what is the solution to shelter ourselves? He says move in the mountains, or away from big cities etc. Did we? No. We moved 1 hr away from where we were to a smaller city which happens to conveniently be his childhood city.Anyway, I think he has an addiction to internet (he only gives it up to play video games or work, also on computer since he's in IT). I have completely given up following the news and random knowledge ever since the covid hoax happened and have been living under a rock ever since. I'm at peace. No war happened, no bomb fell, I miss nothing except some stupid politics and trivia knowledge to angrily discuss with friends and do nothing about in the end.

you need to force him out of the digital coma he's in.Delete the games of his phone, tell him delete his accounts, sell his video games. If he's so worried about ww3 he should put the fucking phone down and spend time with you cause the world is ending no?
>covid hoax
>>33848593I don't think your general question can be answered through your bf's behavior because he is just consuming slop and isn't even processing or analyzing it. Fir him, it is clearly unhealthy
Have a day where you both don't use your phones.
>>33848606It's actually YT and a couple of thousand channels on telegram all day
>>33848620those are the worst fucking people man the ones who sit around watching veritasium or some gay osint channels and using trendy encrypted chat apps to convince themselves that theyre beating the surveillance state
>because he is so smartFrom what you described, not at all. He sounds like a midwit.
