Two weeks ago I got drunk and threw a chair through a waffle house window. The window shattered and I ran before they could call the cops.

I feel guilty about this and I want to make amends but I'm afraid if I come forward they'll press charges. I'm thinking of mailing an envelope of cash but I don't know if the recipient will just pocket it.
