Any tips or tricks?
Just be you, you're out before you wake up
>>33852941I can't contact her they took away her phone. My mom already yelled at the doctor to release. They're probably gonna milk the shit out of this visit aren't they.
>>33852935uh....why?
I hope that someone didn't dump her in so she'll be conveniently gone eastern European style.
Advice coming from a former mental hospital patient: don't go in there expecting to be friends with anyone, unless they approach you first. Learned that the hard way when some blonde bitch scholded me for trying (I mean what else was I supposed to do? NOT try to have a conversation with anyone?). It's kinda dumb as hell considering you're basically cut off from the rest of society while you're in there, but it is what it is. :p Also if anyone looks pissed off (especially if they're known to have anger issues of any kind), just leave em alone. Nearly got my ass jumped trying to ask if someone was okay. Not related btw, but I love your tattoos!
>>33852935tell her to make friends and find you a hot mental gf
>>33852935she needs to do a parasite cleanse
>>33852935My girlfriend was institutionalized once (before we were dating), and I actually came to this very board to also ask for advice and got some kind words from some anons, including one who worked in a psych ward. Here’s what I’ll say for both of your sake’s1. Figure out visiting hours and the phone number for the ward’s outside calls. There will be times of day where the patients will be permitted to use the phones, and they’ll page her directly if you ask for her by name. Visit any chance you get. Call her any chance you get and let her control the convo, since her time will be limited either literally or socially (other people wanna use the phone).2. You are deprived of a lot in the psych ward, which can be a difficult adjustment when you come from a very overstimulating world where music is constantly playing in public, you always hear background chatter, and you have constant internet access. Offer to let her hear some music through the phone if she’s into that sort of thing. My girlfriend had to beg one of the nurses to let her listen to Taylor Dayne at one point, who was the only person on an approved song list she liked. 3. Remind her that it’s temporary, you love her, and that you’ll be there for her when she gets out.4. DO NOT BE MEAN TO STAFF! You get way more flies with honey than vinegar, and you want them on your side when trying to see her.Best of luck.
>>33852935Well I can tell you about what happened to me after my roommate got admitted. I'll call him Q.>Q's gf breaks up with him one day>he copes by consuming lots of weed, stops going to work>he isolates in his room just making music and writing in notebooks>this goes on for over a week>Q starts making no sense, says everything has deep meaning & there are new rules to the universe>still talks like this when he's sober>Q fills up 8 notebooks of ramblings & loosely connected ideas, beyond fucked>shares his ideas with me, i get concerned>i call his family, they visit>they cry, "he is not well" they tell me>his family then tricks him into going on a car ride, he goes>the ride is actually to a psych ward>Q is admitted for 5 days, prescribed risperidone>he comes back to our apartment>that very day he meets up with girl he met at the psych ward>comes back 2 days later with missing front tooth>over the next 2 weeks he wanders around the city late at night, very emotional>one day Q goes to his ex-gf's place uninvited at 9pm and cries at her apartment>she almost calls 911 but is scared, she decides to be nice to him>he finally leaves after 2 hours, drives home>she files restraining order against him>2 days later he accuses me of stealing his ID, very paranoid & angry & manic>i tell him i didn't do it>he doesnt care, he attacks me, my ankle breaks (3 bones broken), i fall to the ground>then he holds me, calls 911, and tells operator that i (ME) is having a psychotic episode>ambulance arrives, he goes outside, he hops in it>paramedics confused, they take him to the hospital and sedate him, then transfer him to a psych ward>me, now with a broken ankle, gets driven to doctors office>it's bad, i need surgery>i move out 2 days later in crutches, show up to hospital with just a suitcase, live in a motel for 5 weeks>i get detective involved>7 weeks later he has warrant for his arrest, still not caughtAll this happened in 1 month. Good luck, OP.
