i hate living at home. my parents actively prevent me from making any progress in life and then gaslight me that they don't. i want to move out so bad but i can't. even the shittiest, ghetto-like apartments are asking $1,500 / month in my area (and pretty much most places in the us). wages will never catch up either.
>just get roommates
i'm an autistic loser; no wants to interact with me let alone live with me.
>just get a better job
again, i'm autistic. in fact i'm lucky i haven't gotten fired from my retail job yet.
>>
>>33856537
just get roommates, find rooms on craigslist or spareroom.com
>I'm an autistic loser no one wants to interact with me
no one cares about that, adults looking for random roommates would love to have someone who just stays in their room all day and pays rent on time
>>
can you move out of the city?
>>
>>33856537
>Here's a list of all the reasons I can never advance in life and how its everybody else's fault
You sound exhausting. Good luck with your sad existence.
>>
>>33856548
finding random people online to live with is an incredibly retarded idea anon, especially from craigslist. you're basically asking to have all of your shit stolen.
>>
>>33856594
People do it every day, numb nuts. You find a Facebook or Zillow or Craigslist ad, go to meet them face to face and then decide if the place is right. The notion that nobody can reasonably move in with strangers flies in the face of every day reality. How the fuck do you think people who move cross-state or city find places to live? You think they just have friends all over the world?
>>
>>33856594
Craigslist is generally a bad idea because it's become infested with scammers and people looking for gay hookups more than anything else. I tried to find someone with a lapidary saw on there once to carve some petrified wood I found (I offered to let them keep half of it), and I got so many unsolicited messages for gay sex.
>>
>>33856585
sorry i asked a genuine question on the advice board instead of another fake relationship thread.
>>
>>33856608
>How the fuck do you think people who move cross-state or city find places to live?
most people aren't moving to a new state or city if they can't afford to.
>>

Enlistmaxx
>>
>>33856651
yeah bro fr fr enlisting is lowkey w rizz ohio
>>
>>33856556
i don't even live in the city though.
>>
>>33856548
There is absolutely no reason to ever resort to having roommates when you can live with your parents. Unless your parents are abusing you in some way it's almost certainly preferable to living with some random who might blast music late at night, steal your food, not clean up after themselves, cook disgusting brown person slop and stink up the entire house, etc.
>>
>>33856537
>>33856537
>Im autistic loser
Dont assue that people wont live with you just because of that, some people are in similiar situation and they wont bother
>>
>>33856814
also
>im an autistic loser
increases the chance that whatever asshole/assholes you end up living with will push boundaries and make your living experience worse if you're non confrontational and let them get away with it
>>
>>33856537
>most places in the US
Not really. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGYCXzpjfaM from a month ago. Pittsburgh and St Louis stood out out in the video, with median rents of $800-$900. You would also save more by not having a car. If you nitpick this information then you're not serious and are just venting.

>>33856837
More reason to move out.
Living with parents will make the person act worse. Dealing with conflicts is natural, feels better when you eventually win.
>>
>>33856594
so lock your room when you leave?
>>
>>33856866
>If you nitpick this information then you're not serious and are just venting.
no, that's not how it works. nobody fucking moves across the country to live in the literal murder and crime capitals of the US just because it's cheaper. it's cheaper BECAUSE nobody wants to live there and everyone with more than three brain cells leaves before they end up murdered by africans.
>>
>>33856661
how did you know
>>
>>33856637
>most people aren't moving to a new state or city if they can't afford to
Way to completely dodge the argument.
>>
>>33857120
st louis does have the city museum though, its not all bad
>>
>>33857120
>nobody fucking moves across the country to live in the literal murder and crime capitals of the US just because it's cheaper
They absolutely do. I can tell you've never been to one of these places because in your mind you think entire cities are just crime plagued warzones when in reality its dozens of small boroughs and neighborhoods, some of them being good and some being bad. Its also worth mentioning that some of the highest crime/murder rates are in mid-sized midwest and southern states, not ultra large metropolises like New York, Seattle or Los Angeles.

>it's cheaper BECAUSE nobody wants to live there and everyone with more than three brain cells leaves before they end up murdered by africans.
Its hilarious you say nobody moves across the country to cities because they're cheaper yet you somehow believe that people who live there can afford to just up and move because they don't like the neighborhood. Actual conservative brain rot.
>>
>>33857206
>leftist has zero self-preservation instinct and thinks the literal murder capital of the US is a fine place to live
person of color me surprised.
>>
>>33857120
And Pittsburgh, what's wrong with that, sperg?
>>
>>33856537
Can you afford $750? Find a roommate
Can you afford $500? Find 2 roommates
>>
>>33856537
quit whining. a studio where I live hovers around $2300 unless you want to live in a ghetto.
>>
>>33856594
I second this. It would be better to have a studio apartment and starve than deal with the type of psychopaths that would willingly live with a random person
>>
>>33856537
for the price of a few months of that rent you can buy a van and kit it out to sleep in it and get away from your parents when you feel like it
>>
I don't care anymore. The price of living at home in a house vs on my own in some shithole apartment is not worth it anymore.

I'd rather save up, continue to further my career so that one day I can continue owning this home and live peacefully.
And if it comes down to having to move out one day, you can best believe I'm moving the fuck away to an area that isn't infested with rats that treat their own city like a garbage can.

You could try getting on welfare

guaranteed wages in your area are higher though. $2,300 for you is basically the same as $1,500 for me.
>>
>>33858773
Then why create the thread? Like I said, a non-serious person who just wants to complain and isn't here to find a solution.

>Like I said, a non-serious person who just wants to complain and isn't here to find a solution
also pretending to care about the integrity of this board is hilarious. every other thread here is just a shitty larp and they always get hundreds of replies.
>>
>>33856651
Realistically this. Better to do it when you can than age out.
>>
>>33858788
>You could try getting on welfare
Government shutdown you can't even get food stamp money right now
>>33856651
This might effect this solution too but this is 100% an easy and profitable way out.
