I’m looking to buy my first electric shaver. I’d like something that works for both face and body (armpits, etc.).
Are there good all-purpose ones, or should I get a separate trimmer for body hair?

No.

Yes.

A shaver and a trimmer are two distinctly different things. I would never use a shaver on sensitive areas.

Get good with a razor. Once you get good it's the best option. Be careful. Keep the skin tight. Don't dig in.

Electric shavers really suck. A $50 Wahl clipper set and hot water on a razor for whatever is left is fast and easy for your face.

Clippers for anything that's grown out.
Shaver like OP for cleaning up the stubble that's left over and maintaining. That's pretty much good enough for anywhere on the body.
