How are "real" tough guys cultivated as opposed to posers?
>>
>>33859681
Not entirely sure desu, but most real tough guys don't talk about being tough, because they don't give a shit and will only defend themselves if necessary.
The toughest people I've known are usually always calm, chill and try to disengage from dangerous situations as soon as they present themselves.
Posers are loud, obnoxious and in your face. There are lots of loud posers who can still be tough, but usually too much confidence comes across as cringe and 9 times out of 10 eventually bites them in the ass.

they have a rough background and dont try to show off how tough they are

Five Hundred.

The main difference between actually tough guys and posers is that tough guys, more often than not, have Seen Some Shit™. These are guys who are ex-military with some actual life-or-death emergent situations under their belt, or survivors of exceptionally awful and abusive childhoods that they themselves managed to fight their way out of, or men who have otherwise been at a point where hope seemed truly lost and had only themselves to rely on.
These guys do not seek out trouble, even if they know they can handle themselves. The trauma they've endured makes them seek out peace whenever possible, because they don't want to relive that dark period of their lives. Posers do not and can not understand that being in a rough situation actually fucking sucks.
>>
>>33859681
The posers are the ones that are dangerous because they have something to prove.

How does someone go from a fire cape to an infernal max cape? Systems that give you a lot of reps. If you're always subject to break ins you stop relaxing in your home, always look for the signs that someone's coming, and understand how to harm them. You as an observer also might be subject to 1) survivorship bias (perhaps literally) because only the biggest baddest people get to call the shots in a barbaric system and 2) sensationalism because a tough guy might look like a 5'8 dork with a recessed chin and a salt&pepper beard. It usually bares out that nobody wants to be in that tough environment for very long. Troops kill themselves, criminals convert to Chirstianity, and mobsters dream about penthouses.

To add to this, I hate the fucking fact that modern negrofied and feminized society glorifies being obnoxious, standing out, and making trouble.
I'm not even that much of a "tough guy," I had an abusive childhood and have had to rely on myself as an adult but I wasn't molested or in a war zone or anything. But I have seen enough shit and cultivated enough physical strength to reasonably put most men I meet on the ground, and yet I'm perceived as "weak" and "passive" "beta" because I don't feel like spending another night in lockup for putting some asshole's head through a wall, or making trouble for a bunch of people I don't know by being some married slut's homewrecker.

Genuinely hard times
If you look around and see a lack of tough guys, it's probably because things generally aren't that bad.

By being exposed to harsh conditions. It deadens the nerves in your facial skin, which makes blows painless (though still dizzying and damaging). It also makes your skin rougher, which makes you look more masculine.
>>
>>33859681
watch cromartie high, strive to be the opposite of the hilarious hypocrites that make up the cast
be like kamiyama
this is unironic advice
>>
>>33859681
Posers like to boast about the fights they have been in. Like to boast about the obscure fight skills they know(ex;Muh one inch punch). They like to dress in a way that makes themselves appear broader and more masculine.
>>
>>33859681
Real tough guys do not boast about themselves. They dress however they want. They also do not actively look for a fight unlike posers.
>>
>>33859681
they are even more of a loser

Love suffer
>>
>>33859681
Step one: Encounter life
Step two: Become the type of person who sorts it out
Repeat

The main difference is whether you try to get what you want, or if you make excuses for not getting what you want.

People who have been in the dirt realize there's no glory in it.

There's no glory in being traumatized. There's no glory in hurting other human beings. There's none. It's not cool. It's not fun. It's not anything positive.

Hardship kills the ego. Kills the focus on posturing, makes someone only care about utility. It even kills competitive drive, it's just "fuck fuck fuck, how do I escape this?'

Being a “tough guy” is not good. There’s nothing wrong with showing emotion
>>
>>33866406
he wasnt talking abt the cartoon hollywood tough guy. real tough guys show emotion but also a real tough guys emotions are either fried or shot. extreme struggle will genuinely derange a man, and most men or "tough guys" silently suffer it out or just kill themselves.
>>
>>33866495
when a man gets to the point where hes showing emotion but in a public meltdown way, hes just fucked up completely atp. esp if he was a silent sufferer up until that point. most authentic tough guys look beta and keep the peace.

Psychos can be tough as nails and seek out mayhem. They love the dice-roll of it and many times there's a homo aspect to it, where the 'better than you' thing is more about measuring yourself against another stiff hard man to find your limits.

Tough is one trait, mentally stable is another and emotionally viable is another.

trauma (and not making said trauma your entire personality)
>>
>>33866747
As a guy who had a lot of tough friends growing up this is a very good point, most of these guys loved fighting and trained hard. It was a win some lose some scenario, they were still good people though, unless someone wanted to test them. While they liked to fight they never abused women or weaker people like a bully would.
>>
>>33859681
took me a while to realise this was hebi sasuke in the scene when he first met the orphan boi
>>
>>33866751
You have it backwards. Chuds screech about how the sky is falling and we're in hard times now. I'm saying we are not. I shouldn't expect a nigger to be literate though.
>>
>>33859773
You throw a fake tough guy in a combat warzone and he just becomes a guy with PTSD lol. Whereas there are guys like vid related who literally seek out war and become mercenaries just because they enjoy it.
