you've never spoken to them
you have no idea what they're thinking
but you feel like there is a connection somehow from playing a game on the same server for like a year and being part of the same community - just cannot shake that feeling. you might share similar pains, similar paths, similar desires. they could help you and you them, if they need it
you've been putting signals out, put attention on yourself and you showed a lot of who you are to the public, which they may have picked up on
you've been observing them, they seem to mirror your behavior in many ways, or it's all just coincidences that your brain overinterprets, over and over and over again
maybe you're not on their mind at all
maybe they have a partner and don't want some lunatic to confess his obsession or even approach them at all
maybe they don't even want friendship, this wouldn't be the first time you've tried, only to find out people don't reciprocate interest you have in them

this has been in my mind for too long now, a delusional construct that snowballed from mere coincidences and projection, and it all went way too far, i need to shatter it all. there is no other way than to actually ask them and have them tell me that it's all in my head.
this will have a cost. i'll probably have to leave that place entirely, for myself and also to not make it awkward for them. imagine a sort of acquaintance you might interact with every day, you don't think much of them, comes to you telling you they're obsessed with you and have this entire mental illness going on. it would be awkward and uncomfortable and you didn't ask for any of it.
how would you do it?
