Hey everyone, I'm a 20 year old 6 ft male who is 170-180 lbs, I am currently shopping for a new mattress. I sleep on my back and am looking for a sleeping setup that will preserve my back health. I don't really have any preferences as I find most mattresses comfortable and my budget is around $800-1000. I figured there would be people here that have thoroughly researched this topic or maybe even know people in chiropractics and could save me some time if they didn't mind sharing what they found.
Build big strong back muscles to protect your back
>>33864640This.Exercise regularly, doing things like squats and deadlifts. You don’t have to be a power lifter. Just use moderate weights but keep exercising at regular intervals. Even a good workout once a week will help.

>>33864594My back was the healthiest when I slept on the floor , on top of a thin hard mattress. But mold and dust are an issue. Basically you need space under the mattress so it doesn't get moldy. That's why people use bed frames. Wooden curved slats are the best. But it can be hard to get good ones outside Europe. Ikea ones are not that good. In general, get the hardest firmest possible mattress. And avoid lifting really heavy stuff. Especially dangerous stuff like deadlift, good-morning, etc. "If performed correctly" is such an irresponsible asterisk.
