>finally move out at 30 >1 month into renting landlord wants to put the apartment up for saleWhat's my play here? I'm in the UK btw. I looked in my lease and they said they can evict me if they are selling so long as they give me 28 days notice. I think I'm just bamboozled because like I said I've only been here for a month so I'm not sure why they bothered accepting new tenants. They also knew I wanted to be here long-term because in my application i put 12 months as my minimum tenancy. They have several surveyors coming round later in the week for evaluations.
>>33864921Insist you'd prefer to be there when they come by. Then, maybe you can weasel a bit of info out of the inspectors and appraisers.Meanwhile, start looking for somewhere new. It could be a lie, a long road ahead, or even a personal insult. If your furniture is depressing, they might not wish to show it until you actually vacate. Vice versa can bre true, too.
>>33864940Yeah I'm probably going to start looking out for other places to move to. Honestly I might have nothing to worry about, when the letting agency contacted me about it they said they believe the landlord will be selling it with me in situ. But still I want to be prepared because that isn't a guarantee
>>33864957I guess don't get rid of your boxes, and your moving expenses. Expect someont to screw you out of a security deposit too :( I hope for the best for ya.
Stay there. Refuse to leave without a court order. In most places it's a huge PITA for landlords to get evictions granted.

you've got squatters rights for 6 months now that you've signed and are in the house, you could legally change the locks as you have possession, then they'd need high court papers to evict you which aren't cheap, in that time you look elsewhere only problem is whenever you leave the property you essentially don't have rights to it from that point or the end of your tenancy, and if they force entry and evict you there is nothing you can do
