can i skip general education at (american) college? it's full of redundant bullshit and i'm surrounded by people who can't write complete sentences or comprehend ALA/MLA formatting or basic principles of academic writing. it's really frustrating that i'm wasting all this time just because other people are retarded and take an entire semester to learn something that i can learn in 10 minutes.

this is at community college btw. should i just apply to a university? can't pay for it though. also i have multiple failed classes at this community college (from leaving the state and forgetting to drop my classes). will that make me unadmissible to a university?

Depends. Usually the main way you get out of gen ed classes is by doing AP classes in high school. I did that and went in with two semesters worth of credits when I went to college. So it's probably to late for you now.

yeah i think i'm fucked i was homeschooled and my umbrella group doesn't exist anymore and i made mistakes at community college so i doubt any real college would accept me just based on that alone.

guess it's a life of crime for me instead.

I won't read threads by disorganized dropouts who blame others for their woes.

No, they are mandatory. Best you can do is ask profs for special permission to take higher level classes that also happen to fulfill certain gen ed requirements

SOME schools will let you bypass SOME requirements by taking an exam.
