Dunno what to do bros
>dad starts complaining about back and hip issues
>think its just regular old guy pains
>does all the test work
>came back today that he has high indicators of prostate cancer (PSA 22)

I'm really fuckin scared anons, I've been hanging out with him all day but sneaking off to my room to cry cos I don't want him to see.
From what I understand prostate cancer is pretty treatable but its just the fact he's been having back and hip issues as well as some swelling in his legs is scaring me that it might be advanced and metastasized. My mum died when I was young and dad is all I have left, he's like my closest friend and I need him so this is really scaring me.

That's reassuring to hear, hope your pops is doing well. How far advanced was his? I'm just really scared because reading from reading up on it back/hip pain is a sign it has metastasized to the bones/spine which means it can be advanced and hard to treat and survival rate goes down drastically so it's really worrying me.

With these kind of things it's probably best to prepare for the worst. Sorry anon

And you can't keep having your dad as your best friend for your whole life anyway, everyone's parents die at some point.
