I got put on consultancy today. Job has 90 days and then I'm out, redundant.

My application for a new mortgage is now fucked. I can't prove income so I can't remortgage.

My 14 year old daughter got attacked by what we suspect was a migrant in the local hotel and will not go outside anymore. It's been six months, she will not leave unless it's in the car with us. Her friend caught the attack on video, the police did nothing. I mention as yet another attack happened today to a couple of young girls, police call it just a difference in culture. We have to deal with a completely agoraphobic 14 year old who cries scared shitless if we leave her alone at home for any reason. Fuck the police, fuck Keir Starmer.

My house is expensive, I know it's going to be hard to find a new job. Nobody is hiring in tech anymore in the UK.

I'm a C# / Javascript (React/Vue/whatever), SQL guy, know Java but not used it in work. 41 years old, three children, plenty equity in my house, wife, kids and I all have European passports (non UK) - made sure of that when Brexit happened. So we can settle anywhere in Schengen.

I am really thinking of calling it quits with the UK. I just don't enjoy it anymore, Keir is killing the middle class and frankly I don't want my children growing up into this fucking cesspit of a place. I keep telling my kids everything is fine, but I know it isn't.

If you were me, what country would you up sticks and move to? I have about 250,000 euros to do something with if I sold my house, maybe more if we sold the cars and a few possession before we left. Maybe should raise a good extra 15000 euros for moving costs and the like. We don't know any other languages than english.

If you only speak English then you will struggle outside extremely major and international cities where it's the norm to speak in English first and whatever other language second - Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid, Switzerland etc.

I would really boundary test the language side of this idea first if I were you. For the adults it's employment. For the children it's integrating into a local school - you'd maybe need to consider expensive international schools where it's English first.

Why don't you consider just moving to another part of the UK or go up North. aThe immigrant stuff stops being nearly as much of an issue the further north you go OR the further away from major cities.

Cumbria is practically an ethnostate and the small villages genuinely look and feel like the brochures of The British Dream.

My read of global politics is that ultimately nobody is happy anywhere. Except in Australia - they have beaches, sunshine and xenophobic pride. People are cool earning less there because they have all that stuff, helps a lot.

There's literally nowhere else to go.
It's the same situation everywhere. It's happening all over Europe, especially in the progressive parts. We have a similar problem here in the US with blacks and hispanics.

Just go more rural if you really care. "My house is expensive" says it sells for 250k. Lol good luck.

Thats our equity, not the value.

And after looking at actual figures, its £280k. Thats cash out after mortgage is redeemed.
