I work in a local gov office tracking people down for child support. Skipping town won't do anything if you have a job. We can send an income withholding order to any employer in the country. If you do odd jobs, don't have a fixed address, etc. it gets a lot harder. We'd have to track you down and work the office in the other state to go after for contempt for non-payment and the nature of things means that's slow, but it does work.
