>inb4 everywhere in the US is cooked rn, lolJust turned 30 and not really enjoying my life at the moment, but getting older made me realize as I looked back at my life going back "home" to where I was from has always spelled disaster. I don't really want it to be that way, but it is. I'm either gonna learn that or just keep sliding down into the pit. What's a good place to go and start over? When I was far younger before I tried to settle down usually I had an idea, where to go and what I was gonna do when I got there. This time I got nothing.

>>33994618I can safely say I was not expecting this as a response.
>>33994514Pittsburg, KS.
>>33994514The problem with going someplace else to start over is that when you get there you're still you.
Houston, Texas. Decently affordable and lots of work opportunities.
>>33994514Wherever you go, you're still there.
>>33995159However, if you're still set on moving then you might check out the City Nerd channel on YT.
>>33994514Wherever you can get a job that pays well. You don’t have as many options as you think. Don’t be retarded. You can’t move without a fucking job lined up. If you’re planning to move and collect disability or somethin then u can fuck off. I wouldn’t live in a blue state, but you might be faggot so a blue state might be good for you.
>>33994649>>33995159People say this a lot to me but honestly looking back at my life I did really well when I wasn't in my hometown. I have a weird love-hate relationship with the place and it does with me, too. I kinda have gotten put through the wringer, this year. I'm thinking of leaving again - trouble is, I don't have the same kind of resources I did a long time ago to do this. In the past what I did was find a friend who'd let me crash, get a job, get some money, get my own place, etc.. Then usually something would pull me home. This time was it was inheriting property and I've regretted coming back ever since.
>>33994645Is that where the cider mill is? Maybe that somethingelseburg. I have been around lately and it is not as bad as it used to be and better than a lot of places now.>>33994514Probably not a terrible choice.
>>33994649>>33995159People who spout this eat-pray-love -tier advice never mention the opposite side of the coin, that your external environment matters tremendously to how your internal state feels. You literally and figuratively don't want to be a fish out of water. That said, OP, the answers aren't too complicated. You either prioritize moving somewhere where you can make a lot of money and/or enjoy a high quality of life, or you move somewhere where there are people you know and love you. That's all there is to it.
