I was recently laid off from a tech company where I had worked for seven years. I’m 32, currently without a job, and have approximately €52,500 in savings. At the moment, I don’t have a clear plan for my next career step. One idea I’m considering is becoming a content creator specifically a travel blogger who focuses on unique, non-mainstream destinations. I’m interested in visiting places that are less commonly explored, such as regions in southern Russia like Chechnya or Vladikavkaz, and potentially other areas that don’t typically attract large numbers of tourists. My thought is that this type of content could attract strong viewership due to its uniqueness. After that, I’d like to move on to other CIS countries. What are your thoughts on this direction?
It's a very saturated field so it won't be easy. You need to find some way to stand out from all the others.

>>33994792But why though? Care to explain what happened to tech and why you were laid off?How does this make you feel for someone young (19) going into tech? Do you feel the future in IT / Tech is screwed now? Give some advice for someone who is diving headfirst into this. Thanks

>>3399479250k gets burned quickly. Plus if "content creator" is the best you can think of after being laid off you're beyond cooked.

>>33994792How about you start some sort of business that generates money then use that to fund this content creation experiment. Have you done any market research on this subject? Who gives a fuck about it? How many people give a fuck about it? It sounds like you have an idea that resonates with you but you haven't done any basic research about it's efficacy. For example: I am starting a fashion brand. I had my own ideas about marketing, positioning, designs etc. But when I linked up with a marketing firm, I found that I was totally off base. There were better and easier ways to execute and find out if my idea works. You need to put your idea through the wringer before committing to it. I would heavily advise starting a business using your skills that are guaranteed to generate funds, but can be done from anywhere over the internet, and use the proceeds to fund the social media content creation. That way you always have a backup.
