What should I look for when buying cars on the FB marketplace? Is it recommended? I'm totally new to the car sphere
>>
>>33995877
Step 1. Pay a mechanic to help you, wrenchlets are suckers.
Step 2. Don't buy an Infiniti
Step 3. Just buy the civic or Corolla.

You can't even begin to fathom the mountain of knowledge that comes with cars let alone buying one let alone maintaining one or weighing costs for long term ownership.

Talk to me. What's wrong with an infiniti? Why a civic or Corolla? I'm interested enough in cars to wanna understand why I should avoid or pursue certain things

I recommend not owning a car because:
1. You will save a ton of money and so you can get your own place all the sooner.
2. There is car-share for when you need a car https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OObwqreAJ48
3. There is van rental for when you need to move.
4. There are affordable, walkable cities with decent transit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrl0PagJe18
5. Considerations of a car for status or to impress women or other men are simply moronic (picrel).

I aint looking it hp for you but learn if you have lemon laws where you live. Have your own mechanic certify the car before buying.

>>33996009

Not him, but, parts and repair mostly. Infiniti: expensive hard to find parts and specialty skills and tools required for repair. Costs a fortune just to own an maintain.

More common brands like Toyota or Honda: cheaper easier to find more straight forward parts and repair.

How can I get a mechanic to check out the car prior to buying? Should I just show them the listing?
>>
>>33996501
A good seller would allow the car to be taken to a mechanic for inspection. This is pretty standard. If they refuse, run.
>>
>>33996536
Oh really? So I can just drive the car to a nearby mechanic and pay them when it's all good? Do they sit in the car with me or what lol
>>
>>33995877
Learn to use a code reader on your mom’s car so you can check if they just wiped the memory. Look at brake hoses and don’t buy if they are wet. That’s all you need to know besides to bring a gun in case they try to rob you. Infinity parts are compatible with any ol Nissan.

>Learn to use a code reader on your mom’s car so you can check if they just wiped the memory
What?
>Look at brake hoses and don’t buy if they are wet
Why? What does that mean?
>>
>>33996699
Fuck then, you better just take mom with you.
>>
>>33996834
Naturally, since I can't drive yet, but I'd rather she fucked off. I just expected I'd had the dude the cash and fuck off. I'm totally ignorant to this situation, on the advice board, asking for advice and clarity and I get shot down like I'm off topic posting. Why the FUCK are you even here if you don't feel like explaining something to ignorant people? This website is so fucking garbage
>>
>>33996585
Or the seller agrees to take it and you pay the bill. You work it out with them. Man, this isnt a video game. Im not giving you tips to go through a pre programmed cinematic. I cannot tell you exactly what the seller will agree to and how theyre going to want to approach it.

It is common practice to have the car independently inspected by your mechanic. You take it. The seller takes it. You hold hands and skip there. One of you ubers. You steal the car and go yourself. I dont kmow what thats gonna look like for you.

Have SOME sense of independence man.
>>
>>33996897
I guess I could just ask the dude to drive there and I pay the bill. You know how much they go for?
>>
>>33996843
I did explain. Just read the post again so I don’t need to say it twice. Plug n code reader. Turn on en. Scan. Do not buy if all readiness tests are not complete. If brake fluid is leaking, do not buy it. It may take a few bucks to replace a hose but the system has been contaminated with moisture from the air. You are almost off topic as >>>/o/ would tell you to stfu and check the sticky.
>>
>>33997044
Well now you're starting to explain yourself! For the first time... I'm not going to hold it against you. I forgot there's a car board on here. Thanks for that
>>
>>33997044
Why the fuck didnt you just link the fucking sticky to begin with? Literally all of my problems are solved there, or at least it gives me a great lead
>>
>>33997085
What fun would that be? I could simply solve every problem in the first post and nobody else could get a turn. What, you want me to tell you to g00gle it?.
>>
>>33997122
I had half a mind to ask chatgpt
>>
>>33996897
lmao. I don't think his questions were unreasonable, but you're not wrong.
this is just the result of parents who didn't bother to parent. most of us know what that's like.
>>
>>33997181
Ever since 13-14 I've distanced myself and tried to do as much as I could on my own. I hope you can imagine how ignorant that would leave me

Yeah, I don’t want to toss my authority around but I am some type of mechanic. I don’t actually know anyone who’s hired a mechanic to look at a car. We don’t know shit anyway. Just look for leaks and body damage that may be evident in paint, near fasteners, where they leave a footprint that you shouldn’t be able to see unless panels have been misaligned. Luck and common sense is all you need. You could buy a new car that takes a dump in a couple weeks of something that runs like shit forever. Nobody can see the future. You just gotta feel it.
>>
>>33997852
Just found out there are lemon services that go out and inspect cars you're about to buy
>>
>>33998110
What an absolute fag. Good luck with it. Like I said, they aren’t inspecting shit. Are they going to read the plugs or scope the engine? I don’t think so. Are they going to send the fluids for lab analysis? You’re better off spending on a warranty.
>>
>>33996009
An Infiniti is a Japanese car built by the French. It's rubbish. If you know nothing about cars, buy a Toyota. Simple as.
>>
>>33999443
Drop dead you dreg
>>
>>34000073
Do you know anything about anything? What can you help me with? Now, I am the bad guy? I hope the circumcision cult finds you.
>>
>>34000131
Not reading because I don't care for a shit flinging match. I'm just going to surrender the conversation to you
>>
Infinitis are the ones always ending up at those street takeover events because they are so easy to steal, no? I think even much newer models than OP posted
>>
>>34000222
Who’s saying anything about handling poop? Gross, what is wrong with you? How many miles on that sucker?
>>
>>33996127
See, the non-response to my advice (don't buy a car), and the subsequent acrimonious back and forth on this thread, confirms that OP is too stupid to either own a car or to decide not to own one.
>>
>>34002211
Pray tell, how the fuck do I transport a 60 lb dog from city to city on a fucking bike, you cum drinking moron?
