Fell into a deep depression for most of my 20s where I barely did anything but work, drink, go to university(without finishing) and make a few music demos and in my early 30s I feel like I can breathe and finally have interest in being productive and achieving things in life. With the advent of the internet, though, it's difficult to not compare myself to others who really got started on things in their early 20s. Should I just get rid of social media so I can focus on living my life again? It just feels like life itself is a young man's game so now anything I do is pointless. >>33995923I won't read yet another (seems like several a day) 30-something calendar of doom threads. The solution is for all such people to be taken out and shot, just so we can have some peace from all the whining.
>>33995923>compare myself to others>Should I just get rid of social media so I can focus on living my life again?it's important to understand that social media is... well, just a distortion of real lifepersonally, i'd recommend going cold turkey. you don't really need social media to lead a good life, but the most important thing here methinks is grabbing yourself together and trying to improve your self esteem... :^)There is no 'ideal' path in life, people just have different complications. Please don't think your life has gone wrong, seeing as you're only in your thirties...
>>33996046>doom threads>posting on advice boardThe userbase of 4chin consists of troubled people. Peeps are fugged up in one way or another... these threads are bound to exist. Just ignore the threads :^)

I know this is a huge simplification, but just work with me.If you know that comparing yourself to others is making you feel worse and have worse outcomes, then restrict your usage. If you know eating cake is making you fat, brectrist your consumption. Do not try to fight it. Otherwise, when you're 40, you'll be having this exact same post asking the exact same question you already know the answer to.
