So I met this girl in a program I just joined. She’s shy, autistic, gets overwhelmed easily, and doesn’t really talk much to anyone. she talks to me sometimes smiles at me, waves in the morning, makes eye contact, and we’ve had a few small conversations about cats, volunteering, shows, etc. I even gave her a cute animal badge and she smiled, tried to give it back, but I insisted she keep it.The problem is I’ve caught feelings hard, constantly thinking about her type of feelings. And because she’s so quiet and keeps to herself, I can’t tell if she likes me back or is just being polite.There are mixed signals everywhere.Sometimes she seems comfortable around me, sometimes she sits somewhere else or leaves early. She didn’t come with me to a bookstore I invited her to (she said her dad was waiting). She also hasn’t texted me even though I gave her my number.Any advice from people who are autistic or have dated someone autistic would help a lot.

Observe the behavior she has with you with everyone else. If she is putting you above say some random asshole who makes fun of you, she likes you. If however she is consistently flirting with everyone where you get the hug, but everyone else the kiss... It's something different. You got to know if you are at a high level with her.
