Where can one go on the internet to experience "soul" or "culture"? There definitely exists a tangible culture on sites like 4chan, and maybe some altchans/imgboards, but I've heard (from oldfags) that it's diminished over the years. Is this just a jaded take? Maybe hindsight bias? Fetishizing the "good old days"? Or is it true, and all the communities with "internet culture" are hidden away in inaccessible Discord/IRC servers? Modern social media (excluding the aforementioned examples), to me, seems FAR more focused on content creation/social contests than actual discussion, which makes me think they may be crippled "culturally" because of this innate structure. I dont need answers to all these questions, maybe just some insight from similarly concerned individuals.
00's and early 10's, it died when everything started becoming about clout n commercialisation and all that bullcrap, and not just because someone really liked a thing
>>34001125yeah the soul is absolutely gone, internet in its (world wide) beginnings wasn't widely accessible, so it was built by and populated by high iq nerds, now everything is overrun by slobbering retardsat the same time the irl culture is in decline due to social engineering, so it's hard to expect things to change
>>34001125The internet in general used to be far more niche. In the late 90s the heavy majority of worldwide internet users were white. Now non-whites make up a majority of the internet and since non-whites don't have souls they are likewise killing the soul of the internet. Also as people said kikes have kiked the internet with commercialization, censorship, and government interference.
