I work in finance. I had a genuine interest in economics from a super young age. Loved debating the Hayek vs Keynes thing as a teenager. Read about all the theories and aced it in University, became known as one of the top Econ students. I also have family that are in finance that would be helpful in getting referred upwards.I’m three years into my career and I’m complete dogshit. I realize I was never intelligent, I just had an autistic interest in economics which allowed me to know everything and get 100s in school. In the real world I’m completely retarded and can’t process or interpret information. My boss gives me a report and says to “clean up the data” and I have no idea what he’s talking about. He then says to “draw the additional fee data from X source”… I have difficulty finding where to access it on our internal software, then I have trouble knowing which document to click (there’s 10 with the same name), then I don’t know where to find the financial info, then I don’t know where the fuck to put it or which exact numbers he’s talking about. Our software allows for three inputs but there’s 8 variables so I ask other people and they look at me like I’m a retard that should know this because I’ve done it 100 times but each case is SLIGHTlY different and then I don’t know how to adapt.And it seems that whichever way I do adapt (choose this info or that info or aggregate X data together) then it turns out to be wrong, every single time. So it’s either ask for help 24/7, look dumb, or be wrong and get in trouble.I am starting to turn to drinking because I’m so stressed that I’m on the verge of being fired and feel so terrible when I’m not drinking because I’m such dogshit at my job and don’t know what to do in life.
There has gotta be a way you can fix this. I'm gonna assume you have no friends or family in finance?

I’ve only worked at one place but I think every reference I would get here would say I’m complete dogshit. I also do stimulants often to boost my IQ and brainpower but I’m still too stupid.
