I got my first job, albeit just being a minijob with minimum wage while studying at uni, and it's decently fun. I don't really know how to use the money I make from it tho. By the end of the contract I'll have 14-18 thousand dollars on my bank account, and probably twice as much by the time I have my master's if I continue with the job. I still live with my parents and I do want to buy a car and move out once I meet a cute girl. What exactly do I do now? Invest it into something? Just continue saving up? Move out and actively look for a partner rather than sitting back and solely comfortably studying and working? Any advice would be appreciated.
>>34046121Being that you seem to have no expenses:Save half of what you makeSpend a quarter on whatever you wantReinvest the last quarter in various means to make more money
>>34046161>ReinvestAny suggestions?
>>34046121>Invest it into something?14k is pocket change. Your bank should offer you some low risk, low interest investment package. Don't get into day trading. Don't buy individual stocks.>Just continue saving up?Yes. Ideally all the money stays saved and you can use your yearly interest on luxuries.
>>34046415A no-load index-linked mutual fund from one of the big fund companies like Vanguard or Fidelity. Put it in and forget about it, except for adding to it when you can) and you'll be a millionaire by 50.
>>34046121considering you still live with your parents this is what you do>you take 90% of money you earn and put it into snp500 etf>forget about itby the time you graduate you will have enough to afford a downpayment on a property and with the rest 10% of what you earn you can buy yourself a beater to get you from place A to place B
>>34046415Usually one third VOO, one VTI and the rest VXUS. It's the basic shit that went perfectly fine in the last 15 years, and maybe it can go on like the NASDAQ after 2001 and you're fucked. But the more you try to time or predict the market, them more you waste time and effort.
>>34046462>low risk, low interest investment packageOki thanks>>34047355>>34047360>>34047387Will look into
>>34046121Would you be happier if you used the money to get your own private place?
>>34046415Reinvest it into personal self development, think Tony Robbins and such. Remember, you MUST keep changing your point of view so you don't stagnate. Get to know yourself better and follow your dreams.
>>34046121All this stock/ETF investing talk only works if you get a high and regular income for 50 years or so.

>>34047515it’s a statement of factso tell me niggerwhat should OP do with his money instead? likesnp guarantees 8 to 10% annually without any thinking involved.considered he asked here it is safe to assume he is NOT financially educated and he won’t beat the market on his own like some chinese quant who spends 16 hours a day in front of his 4 monitors that track every single tick of all his open positions.likeit will not make OP a millionaire but having enough for a downpayment by the time he graduates already gives him a HUGE EDGE compared to all his zoomer peers who will have barely enough to afford rent with 3 roommates

>minijob>contractDude this is so German. I don't know the equivalanet but Roth IRA is a pretty pwnmaster type of investment in the US. You can also pay people to invest money for you. It is wise not to just let it sit in the bank. There are also "safe" accounts but lower yields where you Set and Forget. Also don't spend money on dumb crap. Save that money. Stop going to the christmas market dude, you'll just get run over anyway.
>>34047605>it’s a statement of factBased on nothing but hubris.Anyway, I agree with you. I'm just saying that it only rally works with a high and regular income. Okay, maybe it won't take 50 year, maybe only 15 or 20 years. But if he only invests like 100 bucks each month... Frankly, that won't be enough lest he'll wait over 50 years for it to reach one million or something.
>>34048666>couldn't handle my authentic self :(Same dude, same.
>>34049199Thanks I guess, have a nice day anon>>34049471>this is so GermanShit they got me>Stop going to the christmas marketThere's a lot of yummy food tho>>34049611How do you cope with it? Either people distance themselves, or much worse and much more common, they pretend to not have heard what I said or play it off as "Haha he must be joking. This guy's a person, and people don't think or say things like that".
