>>34051431If you are paid via direct deposit, split the deposit between your regular checking account and a savings account. Come up with a reasonable budget, then set the direct deposit up to only give you what you need, and save the rest. Hopefully once the money is already in the savings account you are more strongly discouraged from wasting it wantonly.
>>34051431You should only need about 3 months salary in your checking account. Any more is overkill and just wasting your money.Split the rest between a high interest savings account and a brokerage account and set those up to automatically withdraw from your checking account every month. About 5% of each check to each account should be fine but you can do more if you want.If you have a 401k through work maybe up the contribution on that too and if not open an IRA. If you do have a 401k consider opening a Roth IRA as well, but prioritize maxing your 401k first. That's my system anyways. It works okay but I dunno your exact situation. Just remember your checking account should have the least amount of money in it. The hassle of transferring funds between accounts alone should help dissuade you from spending.
>>34051431Can you send me some money for gacha?
>>34051431buy gold and silver. You won't lose money, but cannot use it that easily to buy stuff.
>>34051772Can a credit union serve the same purpose? I got laid off last year so I had to dip, but it gains interest so obviously the more money I put in the better.
>>34051467Does holding onto physical cash help too? I've heard ppl say that they only carry and spend like $200 at a time because it's easy to just pull out plastic and just tap or swipe.
>>34052264Dunno I've never used one. Probably? If they charge fees I'd avoid but if it's more convenient for you and makes you more likely to actually put some money aside then sure go for it.
>>34052266Physical cash definitely helps. I can't really spend hundreds a day as I can with digital cash.
I can relate to this. I am currently making the most I have ever made in my career at current company, but my bank account is the lowest it's been in the last 4 years. >>34052266For me it dosen't help. If I keep a money clip of 1-2k I will look at all the hundred bills and feel like I have a ton of money to go spend on something stupid. I recently asked for a pretty significant raise, If i end up getting it I am going to put a set amount of money into a savings account every paycheck, then slowly use that to save up for the things I want. Instead of just blowing big purchases and then trying to say Ill save up my money afterwards.
>>34051431How long has this been going on? I went through this phase for about 6 months before I got sick of spending.
