I was adopted. Now that my parents are getting a divorce they're cutting me off. In their mind their job is done and I'm not related so I don't need to be in the family anymore. The problem is, I just quit my full time job a few months ago so I could work part time (haven't found a job yet) and go to college full time. It's a shitty meme degree but it's something I'm passionate about, and I want to be a university professor myself. I have to look for car insurance, health insurance, and a new phone plan. I have about $30k in savings. Should I invest most of it and find an easy part time gig?I'm filling out the fafsa right now. Idek what I'm asking anymore desu. I'm so confused and all I fucking want to do is get my master's at least.
bump i'm gonna starve to death
>>34060341Phone plans and insurance are for people who have solved their rent and food problems.Cut everything to the bone and a little further even. Go hard on getting a survivable job.
I don't have any advice to offer but I sincerely feel bad for you, nobody should be in a situation like this, I hope things work out
>>34060188Live off college loans/on campus/whatever for as long as possible then like a doctorate level. If it makes you feel any better my parents didn't disown me and were no more help to me than if they did so you can go forwards with life no problem.
>>34060936Best advice imo. Fuck the system. And parents are for pussies.I think I'll always have food and can couch surf if I need to. But holy fuck. The health insurance.
FAFSA should fully cover college since you are filing as independent. Don't report your savings since they don't check anyway. That's food, housing, health insurance taken care of.
>>34061416>don't report savingsI'm gonna trust you on this one kek why would they check that
