How do I cope with the fact that I basically have zero future?

>be me
>37
>been working since I was 14
>bust my ass at every job
>no matter how hard I try, I end up getting left behind and stuck doing the same job until I quit the job.
>I try to talk to my supervisors and they basically refuse to talk about it.
>id like to get coaching to see what I'm doing wrong
>the only time I've gotten a promotion was by default, but I still had to do the same job, it was just a bullshit title.

I've just figured that I royally fucked up somewhere and I have zero chance at this point. I have no reason to believe things will get better at this point.

I have been job hunting but there are not many jobs I can do and my employer won't work with me so I can go back to school and hopefully get what I need to get a better job. Doesn't help I am in a chair so my only option is retail. The high paying factory jobs won't hire me since they can't accommodate.

I tried to get into IT, but even for help desk, places wanted a bachelor's degree instead of CompTIA certifications. I'm only making $17 an hour.

Id like to get into an office position, one where being in a chair won't hinder my ability to do the work.

If you don’t want to keep doing the same thing until you are old, you need to improve your skills. Ideally, this should be done on the job. You need to accept additional responsibility and be accountable for more things and then be able to execute those tasks intelligently enough so that you don’t burn out.

For instance, someone making a cheeseburger at a restaurant will not be considered valuable or be promoted if that’s all he can do. No matter how many cheeseburgers he makes, he will always just be known as the cheeseburger guy. His utility and value to the company is limited.
