Anyone got any good note taking techniques to help info sit in?
I'm trying to learn every country and complete the 15 minute quiz as a personal challenge but sometimes i forget the name or the spellings.

object/name association

For example, I know hundreds of Hockey players, so I attribute ever country to player, make a list, memorize the list and hopefully my mind accurately connects each country to a player

Take note of your mistake. Make a flash card out of it.

the way we did it in school was having a blank map of each continent or large region of the world and writing in every country name. try to develop mnemonics. for example, i used to remember the situations of the northern four -stans by noting that kazakhstan, kyrgyzstan, tajikistan, and uzbekistan are roughly in alphabetical order, proceeding clockwise from 12 o'clock.
you could also try to learn some geographical and cultural information to associate with every country, which would help you either group or differentiate them. being able to group entities is often helpful because knowing part of a group helps you remember the rest of it. basically, try to form patterns and categories between countries so it's not just a raw list of names

Make a song out of it. Set the list to music in your head. "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" works for me
