I went to a psych (just a NP actually) complaining of persistent focus and motivation issues since childhood and they prescribed me fuckin meth (vyvanse).
Thing is all I did was a short questionnaire which feels incredibly inadequate a diagnostic tool. I'm crazy anxious about taking the pill because I'm not even sure if I have ADHD on account of NPs being generally oblivious and the methods of diagnosing ADHD seem stupid. I don't want to be stuck spiraling for a day because I took an amphetamine if I just have GAS or something.

Meth is a very different and far harder drug than that one just saying. You're conflating medicine with a concoction of materials cooked into a crystal.

You also should know adhd medication isn't permanent, you take it to heal your neural receptors and once recovered you wean off the meds except with far less mental issues

Vyvanse is a fairly safe pill.
It has to bind to an amino acid during digestion in order for it to work.
This makes it very hard to abuse or take recreationally.

Vyvanse is not meth, and the dose you take is much lower than a recreational dose of speed. You'll probably barely even notice one pill. (You have to take it daily; it builds up a little over time). Try it, see how it feels. If you find you feel calmer and more focused, keep taking it; if it just makes you feel agitated, then stop.
