I hate loud sounds. Claps, shouting, arguing, talking—all of this makes me completely uncomfortable. What could be causing this?
>>34071315'tismI mean, obviously.
I have the same issue, I'm also what you might call a psychology nerd.https://www.simplypsychology.org/highly-sensitive-persons-traits.htmlYou could also be schizoid, which sounds worse than it is, (it's not schizophrenic). Could be a touch of the tism as already noted. Could be a hundred other things. What really matters is what you do about it, how you handle it. You might want to stop telling yourself that you can't stand the noises, because you can stand them. There are unfortunately a lot of other bad things you can tell yourself that makes things worse, e.g. "This noise is fucking terrible". Let's say there are two different scales of human suffering, one rational scale that goes from 1 to 10, and one irrational scale that goes from 11 to a million. When you tell yourself things are terrible or that you can't stand them, you are using the irrational scale. When you say something rational like "I really don't like this fucking noise, it is very bad, I would rate it as a 7 out of 10 in badness", then you are using the rational scale and you help yourself cope.Another thing you might consider is how you might "cure" yourself. I could type for hours about this and this is 4chan so I don't know if I would be wasting my time. It would come down to exposure though, so I suggest researching how psychotherapists use exposure to cure people. You would slowly expose yourself, first in your imagination, then in real life, to the uncomfortable thing, and manage how you talk to yourself before, during and after. After some time and practice you can improve the way it feels, or maybe get rid of the problem all together. It takes more than just a few times of practice but it might be worth it for you.

me too. especially coughing and loud sneezes
>>34071315>What could be causing this?Autism is definitely a possibility.
>>34071315is it double sounds in particular? like if you're at the doctor waiting room and you hear the TV and the nurses playing the radio it makes you seethe?that's autism
I'm pretty sensible and my brain decided that other stuff is more important than my auditory impressions. No tism nor schizo/psychotic stuff ever though. So I bit the bullet and went DJing and producing music.I'm fine.
