Alright, so a while back I had a situation while working my job at an electronics store. There was a power bank on one of the registers, it was unmarked and unlabled, so I picked it up and put it behind my own register, keeping it safe (since it was out in the open) until the end of the day, when I intended to return it.

See, what I didn't know is that Loss Prevention was watching the cameras, and thought I had intended to steal the power bank.

In the middle of the day, my manager got me into his office, and asked me about it. I returned the power bank, and explained the situation.

A Loss Management officer was on the phone, and said that he believed me and appreciated my honesty, and that if they had any more questions, that they'd ask me tomorrow.

In hindsight, I should have approached my manager about it immediately, but at the time, I didn't know what to do.

Long story short, they terminated me from the seasonal position I just started working.

Now here's some further context:
My previous manager who was training me was fired for being way too strict, so I was unable to finish my training properly, which I suspect was one of the reasons I was so lost in that moment.

I did carry the power bank with me when I left the register, but that was only so I could hand it over immediately.

I know my words as an internet stranger are hard to believe, but I really did have the best intentions with this whole situation.

Let me be clear, I am still actively searching for a job, so don't worry about me "just complaining about it instead of doing something more productive"

Genuinely curious to see what some of y'all think about it

I mean, there's nothing you can. Seasonal workers are pretty much just limited hired help so they probably pulled a bitch move and cut you to save costs under the guise of you're stealing. It happened to me last, year. Took 10 extra mins to come back from a break and they fired me for time theft, in reality the fat faggot supervisor just didn't like me for not being a brown nose and used that as a reason to get me fired. Personally I would just say make sure you do your best to be as clear as possible in your next gig, record everything and always report shit asap so that they don't pull any faggotry and say you're the reason why shit went bad..

See, the funny part is that I pulled really good commission numbers when I was working for them. #1 computer store indeed... other than them pushing me to attach service plans to fucking everything, I enjoyed working there
>>
Why do you care? I bet that shithole had a 4 month turnover, you probably had no benefits and made less than 13 bucks an hour.
Who cares?
Don't put it on your resume.
Stop giving a shit.
Ask your parents what to do. What are you 37? Do you not have a mother???
Today I went into a store and there was so many people, It was awful.
I'm sure most of them were dumb like you.
Maybe some kind of disease or plauge will kill them all, I hope so.
There is too many people like that.
Why are there so many like that? What do they do when things aren't handed to them, die perhapse.
Good.

Alright well sorry for existing. That was the first job I've worked in 5 months, so I was a bit discouraged. Emotions are not the same as intelligence

That seems absolutely alien to me, we would regularly blow through 10K+ a day during my apprenticeship.

So, you seem to be living in some kind of, yes, you guessed it, dystopian...other place?

Where's that?

More importantly perhaps.

Why would you be there?

Phoenix. Worked at the Micro Center that had just opened there. Made 16/hr + commission. Worked there because it was the only place that responded out of the 157 applications I sent out

Thanks for the reply.
(that was total bullshit...not the reply, the place that fired you)
On a side note, pretend you are of a culture in which cheating is the norm. (China, India, a lot of Asia, but not all for sure either.)
Now build a CV based on that, whatever, you were busy with DJing, meeting thousands of people, built huge events...
