how do I fix my shit? Is school the answer? I'm living with my parents right now so school is feasible. Didn't go when I was younger due to some chronic health issues.

The answer is school. If you're worried about your ability to be proactive in getting a good job then school with a placement component.

You said CAD, so federal loans are 0% for now so there's no reason not to go. Pick a field, go to school, go to a placement and don't fuck it up, get hired, use the time doing that and living with parents to build your confidence up and stop comparing to others or you're cooked when you graduate in 2-4 years
