should i buy an art? i've been living in my house for 3 years and all of my walls are bare. i think it's weirding people out. what kind of stuff am i supposed to put there?
is this pretentious
I wouldn't put anything on my wall that I don't personally like, the fact that you are asking is a flag.If someone asks "oh, you don't have anything on this big wall?", is it that bad to just say "yeah I kinda don't have anything in particular I'd like to put on it".If you put up some random art to appear normal, what part about you are you covering up with it? And when you get asked, "oh what's this painting?", how are you gonna defend it? I mean you don't need to have some deep reason, maybe you just like how it looks, but then make sure it's something you actually like and not something you have to lie about later. Don't live a lie. Or maybe do, and I'm just too autistic about it.I think these pieces look a bit too abstract and won't age well, giving a pretentious feeling unless you are into paintings specifically. Also, are you man or woman, because I guess faking normality from peer pressure is more normal for women.
>>34072483i was watching some interior design youtube videos and she convinced me that some art would be a good idea to make the space more cozy. was looking at warm colors but i also like this van gogh.
>>34072407Whatever you do, don't buy posters. Even framed. Even that meme metal plate. I know, I know. There's nothing wrong about it. But normies think it's juvenile. Weird, right?I think as long as the side is not empty, it's fine. Like it has a desk or a bookshelf or couches or something.
>>34072407I have this one and got tons of compliments from girls.
>>34072483I think it's only pretentious if I act like I know about art when I don't. I just want to have a comfortable house and for people to stop asking me how long i've lived in the house and then acting weird when i tell them.>>34072518I think I might get a stretched canvas version.
>>34072523oh yeah that looks really nice.
>>34072437>>34072407No both are great.
Why not get something like this
>>34072883because i don't want my guests to think i'm a big gay furfag
>>34072407Nature scenes work well anon.I got mine so that girls wouldn't think I'm a psycho for having bare walls.I've grown to really like them though.
>>34074734i like this one too but it's a bit cool and not much of a nature scene. maybe this is a piece you put in the bathroom or something like that
>>34074755Looks good anon, nice vibe.I prefer more vibrant colours myself though.
>>34074766yeah that one is kinda sterile and monotone. there are some really stunning beautiful nature pieces that would probably be better
>tfw have good arts but no guests to appreciate them
>>34074791Better but for a wall you want something closer with a point to focus on.
>>34072407I've never understood the purpose in putting up abstract shit on the wall like paintings that have absolutely no meaning. I have family photos, pictures of my pets, Pokemon posters, Land Before Time screenshot printouts, Star Wars stuff, etc. You know, stuff I actually care about that has meaning. I don't care about putting up what I'm "supposed" to as an adult. That boring generic shit has no appeal to me. I'm 34 so I'm not just out of high school or whatever. I've always decorated my house the way I want. I don't give a fuck what other people think.
>>34074964>meaningEnjoying an aesthetic in your space is sufficient meaning.>supposed toPeople judge, often stupidly. If you want to interact with them then you have to pay the toll.
>>34072407There has never been a better time to decorate your house with art. Just generate stuff with AI and then get it printed somewhere. AI makes great watercolor paintings and stuff like that. If you can't think of anything make some still-life paintings or landscapes.
