19, woman. All my life I lived around Moscow (please don't judge me, I really hate it here). Since I remember (like from 6 years old) I always wanted to moved from Russia, for me, child, it was usual think. I tried to learn countries and languages. I always loved Ukraine, their culture, I had friends from Ukraine, always wanted to visit they there. From when war was started I was 15, and I was frustrated, my parents had some problems with money, my mom worked as cashier day and night (from 12pm to 1am), and my dad lost all his money at casino. In 2024 I found a community Ukrainian peoples, they very kind to me, even if I'm a part of "enemy country". I just feel so sorry so I can't stop cryin, I can't just live in f Moscow and know that I do NOTHING. Now I'm on 3rd year in Art School (art is my only addiction), next year is my last. My parents now have more stability, but still scared of leaving (like, "nobody waiting for us there"). Can anyone give an advice, can I SOMEHOW be a part of volunteering IN Ukraine? Maybe someone heard stories how russian people moved in Ukraine to help? I don't have any other passport.
Ruzzian advices will be ignored, please don't be assholes

Don’t volunteer in Ukraine, and for God’s sake stop hating your own country and your own identity, it’s pathetic. You don’t need to see Ukrainians as the enemy you’re right, but you don’t need to identify your own countrymen as enemies or the ‘bad guys’ either.

In war there are no heroes or villains, no good guys and no bad guys, just a bunch of apes on both sides unleashing violence and aggression because some rich old aristocratic politician had a couple of ideologies, and so they make young men bleed, die and kill for their ideals.

And Ukraine does it too. Zelensky and his men kidnap young teenage boys and young adults from the street and drag them into cars to force them to fight and die. Mothers losing their sons, wives losing their husbands, girlfriend’s losing their boyfriends overnight because Ukraine is just as desperate and corrupt as the Russian Kremlin. They don’t care about freedom or the wellbeing of their own citizens, they just want to ‘win’. That’s all, and they will send their own young men to pay for this with their blood. Meanwhile Zelensky sits nice and warm and comfortably in front of cameras with security guards as his own countrymen are blown to pieces in drone strikes.

If you volunteer in Ukraine you will regret it, most likely you will be killed eventually.

So here is my advice: Don’t go to Ukraine. If you want to make a difference, you can do that. You do not need to go to Ukraine for this though. All you need to do is be a friend, that’s all. Keep talking and hanging out with your Ukrainian friends, be a good neighbour to them. This keeps the hope alive that peace is still an option. It doesn’t seem like much, but it goes further than you think.

Here in the UK the kingdoms stopped fighting and stopped spilling blood among themselves eventually. All the had to do was merge, marry into each other, where the people communicated with the other people, starting families together until eventually even the rulers married each other and no more war.

You’re already doing that, befriending Ukrainians. That’s good enough. No need to go and risk your own life over a war that is most likely ending soon anyway.

Just go to the west, tell them you fled Putin or something.
