34 year old loser here. i make 16 an hour wageslaving. I don't make enough money to save anything and live paycheck to paycheck, rent and utilities + car insurance + gas and food takes all the money.I would like to go to school and get a computer degree and work ANY computer related job that pays more than what I do. How the fuck do I do this?
>>34074260If in the US, get a student loan large enough to also cover rent + living expenses during your education. Be horrifically in debt when you graduate, but now you'll be qualified for that compsci job
>>34074260>I would like to go to schoolwait till you learn that schooling/academia has nothing to do with wealth and is actually outside of it. There is a chance you would have spent four years earning a degree for you not to gain any value in your life from it all.>ANY computer related job that pays more than what I do. How the fuck do I do this?you are able to find this place and post this crybaby drivel- you can teach yourself tech-related skills. How about researching which "jobs" or "work" pays related to the tech field and also finding out where in the USA you can get paid for it. Then seeing what credentials or skills they look for and see if you can attain that status to get paid. I know some who have never earned a Bachelor's Degree but have tremendous self-taught programming skills and have been hired because of that. I guess, it boils down to what benefit a company gain by paying you to do some work.
>>34074863I don't have credit or family to sign for it so I can't get a student loan
>>34074260There is a coding boot camp you can go to that takes a percentage of your paycheck after graduating. If you don't get a job in tech you don't have to pay them anything. Their hiring rate after graduation is one of the highest among coding boot camps. I don't remember their name but you could ask LLM.But: amongst programmers the consensus has been that AIs are about to eat the junior engineer roles you're targeting. AI integration is being pushed aggressively in coding. There is a free for all in the AI code generation space that's still playing itself out.
>>34074881That's.... you don't need that for a student loan, anon. The loans are backed by the government and made for poor retards just like you, seriously go call FAFSA after Christmas or check out their website
>>34074260You're living a better life than me.
>>34074260I think you should do a trade instead. If you make bulk beans and rice you can fry them with tortillas and whatever else that is cheap. If you can shrink any part of your budget that can help you not live check to check. Eventually with more money is more options.
>>34074260>16 an hourThat's 32k a year, before taxes. You should be living a good life. If you aren't, then get your finances in order.
>>34075521This. I'm guessing you live alone, in a nice apartment and bought your car new. And I'd also guess that most food you eat is prepared by someone else. All these things make your life more expensive then it needs to be.
