I’m a professional, have a wife and I’m come to the conclusion that all my hobbies and interests are somewhat juvenile. Every time I start really progressing in my hobby nowadays, I come to the same realization. ‘I’m too old to be doing this’. My past hobbies are writing music and trying to make video games. However, I’ll be in the moment of doing whatever I’m doing, and just have this crushing feeling that I’m far too old to be sitting around and doing this with my free time. >just don’t care what other people thinkIt’s not that simple, my hobbies are a young man’s game. I don’t want to be the old guy at open mic, or wasting my life making a video game that no one else will care about. Obsession is a young man’s endeavor.I need a new creative hobby. Something I can do for the next 30 years of my life, without feeling guilty or ridiculous doing. I’m perfectly healthy, so I don’t really have limitations. Besides maybe not being able to afford buying a boat or something. I’m open to suggestions, preferably something creative. I was thinking about getting into glass blowing.

>>34094753Op here, not the worst suggestion. I appreciate the post.
>>34094737>my hobbies are a young man’s gameno, you are just a delusional faggot. I know grown men who are into realistic model kit building. They make no money from it, and seek no audience for it. It simply brings them happiness. You? A performative weirdo who thinks the world revolves around him and judges him. No one really cares bro.>I’m open to suggestionsno one can tell you what to enjoy. See, that's your problem- you worry too much about what other people think. You only want to do hobbies where other people would approve of it. You are this retarded. Understand that. Who gives a fuck if you like building Lego sets, RC cars, programming and playing video games? Do what makes you happy, not because it makes other people happy. It seems you have some childhood trauma you need to address.
>>34094737Lol, lmao even. Can you imagine this guys kids standing at his grave and going "Wow, I'm glad dad gave up the things he loves so that he could sit in the corner carving wooden animal like a cowboy from the 17th century, so manly and adult!"The fact that you need other dudes to tell you what is acceptable already tells me everything about what type of men you are.
>>34094835>Just be a retarded man child. I know plenty of them. Thanks for the advise I guess.
>>34094886lol I’ve come to the conclusion myself that I no longer get satisfaction nor have the drive to be creative in those fields. It’s not about validation, it’s about not getting roped into another hobby just basically consuming bullshit/youth coded/ buying retarded shit and calling it a hobby. I’m asking people for hobby suggestions because I’m genuinely trying to find something that might peak my interest.
>>34094737>It's not that simpleit is>I don’t want to be the old guy at open micgaming is not a hobby. it's a vice>wasting my life making a video game that no one else will care aboutlearning how to code, solve problems and be creative is not "wasting your life". you'll be 50 with dementia because you don't use your brain>Obsession is a young man’s endeavor.obsession is for the unraped of all ages. you're of a lower consciousness than a LLM if u can't obsess over things>I need a new creative hobby. Something I can do for the next 30 years of my life, without feeling guilty or ridiculous doing. what about thinking? try using your brain to solve this problem u think u have. you're 33, enough of handholding. no? u should already know how to live life
>>34094947>just use your brain bro! Don’t ask people for suggestions! Try thinking!!!You’re a pretentious faggot. Heaven forbid I be open to new ideas>just waste your life and obsess over something that’s doesn’t bring you joy anymore Sounds like a great use of my time.
>>34094947what childhood trauma caused this mindset? I legit feel bad for people like you, totally unable to enjoy life because you're terrified of living "suboptimal" whatever the hell that means
>>34094959you're 33 and can't solve your own problems LOLeven if i gave you a thousand "creative hobbies" you'd be shit at all of them and go back to gaming and jerking off. you're the eternal low consciousness consoomer. NOTHING will bring you joy because you're the RAPED. you unironically game at 33 your big aspiration is creating your own game but you're not even capable of that because it requires thinkingyou come here to ask for advice (because you can't think) and i tell you to try using your brain and you call me pretentiousyou'll NEVER be helpedyou'll have DEMENTIA in 15 years
>>34094918>Thanks for the advise I guess.what did you want me to say? Play golf? Go do investment schemes or get into real estate financing? Open up multiple international businesses? Commit multiple federal crimes to accumulate millions of USD a year? Stop being a pretentious faggot. No one cares what hobby you choose. If you want to go to open mic after writing songs, just do it. You are a fag if you won't do it just because you think its childish. I could atleast respect a man who goes after what they want in life- not ones who pretend. You could smell those a mile away.>yeah bro I built this section of the house last summerwhen deep down you hate life and are fake as fuck.
>>34094967because i like to use my brain? i don't care at all about productivity. you think people that create stuff see it as work? do u really think it's a dread for them?i like to wander around, touch things, use my brain, try to understand a few things around me. use my hands to configure materiality as a tribute to perfection
>>34094737I went through a phase of "I'm too old for my hobbies" when I was 26-28. Now I'm 34 and unashamed.Honestly if you wanted to cultivate more mature hobbies you should have done that when you were younger. It's pretty late now. Sorry no one told you.Just hide your hobbies from people if you have to. I have to say though, throwing your whole self into your hobbies and not giving a fuck what anyone thinks feels great.
I'm of the opinion that in most cases no particular hobby is more mature than the other, what makes your actions mature is how far progressed you are into that hobby, and what you're doing with it.A good example might be writing. A more immature person would be writing really amateur fanfiction. Someone in their thirties would be more experienced, they'd write more sophisticated stories with mature themes that build off their life experiences. They'd maybe be skilled enough to make something technically impressive, worthy of competitions, profitable etc. They'd could be actively teaching and mentoring others as well. They might also specialize into a specific niche or domain.
hiking, fishing, photography
>>34094988only real nigga on this thread
>>34094737The greeks believed that some unity between body and mind is the most natural and highest ideal there is. I would pursue a hobby that keeps your mind and body busy.Try Rock Climbing, maybe Hiking, Cycling, hit the Gym, take care of your body above all else, then I think some greater options might open up before you.
>>34094737Anything artistic - drawing, painting, clay/physical model making, digital modelling, photographyI tell people I do drawing and painting and they think it's coolIf you're dog shit at it - just tell people you're learning/just getting into painting and drawing and you're trying to get better - should get you out of having to show it for a bitI answer this as an autist who has to work with normalfags so "needs" a hobby to present/mask themselves as a normal human being
>>34094737>Reddit spacingIf this isn't a bot repost, I see no reason why you can't keep making music. Yeah the indie game shit might be a little juvenile but>I don’t want to be the old guy at open micBrother I see old dudes performing venues all the time. Even at screamo shows and shit.I sympathize with the whole "I'm getting to old for this scene" sentiment. I felt that recently with cosplay and costuming - at the last con I was at I realized I was a 33 year old guy talking to a bunch of kids not even old enough to drink about cartoons made for teenagers. A bit of a different context because I had the generation gap staring right in my face but still I got the feeling of "I'm a grown ass man doing something that kids do."One question you need to ask yourself is if the hobby still "sparks joy" in you or not. Are you considering giving them up because you're "too old" or because you don't really like them anymore?
>>34094737>too old to writeWhat the fuck gave you that idea?
