How can I turn my life around 4chan?

What I want, is to find a career that makes me a lot of money and is something I can stand doing for like 40 years.

For context, I used to be a smart kid (straight As) in high school, but got burned out and went crazy in college. Ended up doing a mild troon out and got an English degree. Now I can't find jobs over $16/hr. Meanwhile, friends who went to the same college are making $30-$40 out of school.

I think I want to go back to community college, but I need advice finding a field of study or career field I will enjoy and will make about $30/hr, if not more. I live in the middle of America.

Any advice or questions I can ask myself to help me with this goal?

Do the guidance counselors not tell you how much you would make? Lol

You're gonna have to do some research yourself on what is good for your area. Middle of America is a little too vague. What might be good in Ohio is not necessarily good for Texas.
There is most likely a trade field in your area that is stable and fairly easy to get into.

ok how do i into that

idk not really lol
The only career guidance I got seemed to be one class my senior year where we would learn about jobs for English majors and talk to former English majors at our school and see what jobs they ended up with

Yeah...
Idk if I can do a trade since my body is fucked up after taking hormones
What is a good critera to determine if something is good in my area? How do I see what jobs are in demand?

Do you live somewhere that has extreme temperature variances throughout the year? HVAC.
Do you live somewhere that has rainy spring/summers? Lawncare
Do you live in a densely packed modern city? Telecom/Electric
Do you live on the coast? Commercial fishing
Do you live in the PNW? Commercial logging

It's simply something that you're going to have to find yourself, and you'll likely have to get direct feedback from people. If you can't do trades, general labor jobs can lead to pretty nice positions of you can work through some shit for a couple of years and put effort into moving upward.

I live in the midwest and was sort of in your position. I randomly got into tree work and made $20/hr to start. I got a raise to $22 after a year. Nothing amazing but it's enough for me to rent my own apt and live a simple life. I had no experience and wasn't in any sort of skilled labor before. It's going to be hard but if you eat well and take care of yourself, your body will adapt.
