Really had to stop drinking so much.I feel fine, really just a little anxious. Just worried about sleep. Anything I can do, or should expect? My plan is to change beer for sparkling water, and just drink tea at the bar when I make my trips out to see to see my bar fly friends. As long as I have a drink in my hand I think I'll be ok.
>>34136509It depends on how much you were drinking before, anon. I'm roughly an alcoholic, and take long breaks once a year. You can literally kill yourself if you don't taper it a bit (and always consult a medical professional if you can, etc.). If you're someone who had 4-5 drinks a night, it's likely that you don't have to worry too bad. If you're at 6-10+ drinks a night, like I've been in the past, I suggest some kind of tapering at the least. My normal go-to on my breaks is like 4-3-1 beers over 3 nights. I've never had dangerous DTs, but a lot of people do.Try to eat a good amount early on. Of course nutritious food would be best, but fuck it, eat some McDonald's and a bag of Doritos if it'll help. A lot of people crave sugar, so ice cream or candy might help.(cont)

As long as I have a drink in my hand I think I'll be ok.This shit's harder than you think. At home, I drink LaCroix/sparkling/coffee/tea/water at all times because I don't like soda. Hanging out with the gang or bar flies is a real challenge. You might need to stay in and skip that shit for a bit before it feels like you don't want to drink as much.Give it some space.Good luck.
>>34136530I was a 12 pack of light beer a night drinker. I tried a tapper but would always just end up fucking it up and tapping into my supply to get me to sleep. If I don't see any of the shakes or hilusinations I think I'll avoid it. Apparently day two and three are when run into most of that. So I'll do a single bottle if I run into problems and treat it like medication. Thanks BTW.
>>34136541Honestly I am not an addict as much as a habitual person, a few of them are also going into a dry period. I am definitely going to go a lot less.
>>34136544I doubt you will get hallucinations or serious shakes. You will probably have trouble sleeping the first 3-4 nights but after that you should be clear.
>>34136595Yeah I'm not even really uncomfortable at all. I mean the habit is still calling me to go grab a beer.
I am starting to have a few small twitches can't tell if it's related.lets hope not.
>>34136509Man you fuckers really help convince me I'm not alcoholic. I'll probably kill a tall can 14% nightly, but that's about as hard as I go. I could drink more but then my memory fades and I get headaches.
>>34139305Don't worry. That number will creep up on you one day
>>34139323In terms of negative health aspects or are you saying I'll start drinking more than one? If it's the former then yeah I can agree, if it's the latter then no. My body has a hard limit on how much I can drink, pressing past it will make me either fall asleep or my stomach will just make me heave. The only way I can tank mutiple drinks is if I'm in a social setting that's fueling me to drink.
>>34136544Good luck anonI'm a 8-10/night man myself but it's been like a decade straight and I think if I don't seriously try to wean off it to a manageable level now I never willI'm rooting for you
>>34139452Nahh I'm rooting for you anon. I have been drinking a 12 pack a night for about 8 years myself. You can join us, a whole lot of people are going dry this month, it will be a nice reset no matter what.
>>34139693ty anon
We almost at 3 days and I feel great! How do people make this shit sound scary? Are the brains of people who get addicted to shit that different? Also 100% I don't make it to the end of the month after making this dumb ass post.
