I live with my mother and she’s depressed and has severe hygiene problems, we live in a small apartment and she leaves trash and bottles out everywhere that litter the hallway and living room and make it impossible to step anywhere. The apartment is moldy and we both get sick often. Every time I bring this up to her she gets defensive and says life is hard, and refuses to let me clean it. She recently quit her job and is spiraling more and I fear for the future. Moving out is not an option, WTF do I do
The saddest thing about your mother is you can not be responsible for her. You have to be responsible for yourself. What this means is being patient with her through everything. You have to see that human side of her not the monster side she can't control. If you see the human in her more often, she is gonna loosen up, and eventually agree she needs help.
Moving out is always an option
>>34139633even if it means literally just throwing yourself into homelessness? lmao
>>34139670Yes. OP's home is overrated
>>34139670Then have humility with your situation.

>>34139607>refuses to let me clean itStop asking and just do it then?

>>34139607Move out is better for you. If you still want to support on your mother and she needs to fix herself.
