I’m thinking of going homeless and living in shelters while going to college. Reason being I want to work less hours (no need to pay rent and qualify for food stamps) so I can focus on school more, relocate closer to a city, and have time to actually enjoy my life. I currently live with family but my mom is a piece of shit and I pay for everything involving myself anyways. Only concern is safety and sickness. Thoughts?
Hmm, it sounds reasonable, but also stupid. I guess it depends a lot on your country. Where I live, you would suffer during winter. Also shelters suck here. Would you even get in one? I think it would be too great of a lifestyle change and it would affect your studies. There is a reason people aren't homeless. If you really want it, maybe you could try being homeless for a few days before deciding? Talk to the homeless guys?
>>34142095I was homeless for most of a semester of college- I slept with a lot of women, stayed out all night at bars then diners then slept on couches in the library or other lounge areas when the school opened. It would only work in a big city with stuff open all night. Maybe you can look into van life shit that would be more comfy.
Where is the college going to send your mail?
>>34142095If you have a van or suv I say do it. Otherwise no.
>>34142095Do you have any sort of actual plan?Know what the laws are where you live? You're not guaranteed a spot at the shelter and people are definitely going to steal your stuff. You'd be better off living in a car.
Look into van life, as everyone else is saying. There's a ton of youtube videos. Get yourself a decent power station, solar panels, rice cooker, etc.
>>34142095>be me >homeless >ran away from home due to their mental well-being blaming me for everything >fuckthis.jpg>do this for about a year >no end in sight >no jobs >no upward mobility >just a cycle of begging and barely >everyone seems rich >petty shit makes you feel superior>everyone else is on drugs Life sucks as a homeless anon, maybe have sex with your mom like mine kept wanting to.
