Yo, I'm in America. Can a hospital refuse to service you if you still owe them like a gazillion dollars from the last time you were admitted but had no insurance?
a hospital can only refuse care if its non life threatening, if you are having a heart attack they have to take care of it
>>34173321>non life threateningWhat you mean though? Like if I wanted to get my boobs done or something?>life threatening So like if I had pneumonia? Blood clots? Broke my elbow?
>>34173352mental retardation isn't life threatening.
>>34173352It's really not that complicated. Non life threatening = you can exist without dyingLife threatening = you will die if you don't get ___ treatment
>>34173352It's really fucking easy - are you going to die from the disease or condition or not? And if the answer is "yes", there's a sub-clause of "are you going to die today? This week? This month?">boobs doneElective surgery, so non-life threatening.>pneumonia?Potentially life-threatening disease. >Blood clots? Life threatening condition. But you've already had tests to know this so they've already admitted you.>Broke my elbow?Non-life threatening condition
>>34174272>Broke my elbow?>Non-life threatening conditionSeriously? You know how many people in the past have died of broken bones before modern medicine was a thing?
>>34174678No. How many?
