I am a 26-year-old KHHV. I never even had friends that I hung out with. I rot at home, and feel constantly anxious.
Even the supposed cope I had that things will get better if I move to X place have evaporated. There's no place in the world where I won't suffer.
I am extremely sad and let down by my lot in life. I feel like there is simply nothing I can do to change things for the better.
What to do? I am suffering.

Medication for major depressive disorder is a good start. Moving (or traveling, since that's a lesser commitment) isn't necessarily a cope; there may well be environments where you'll feel more comfortable getting out of the house. I wouldn't do it tomorrow, but at some point, sure.

If you're feeling distressed, go to sleep.

When you awake, write about your feelings and their causes. Write where in your childhood you started feeling like, and what you originally wanted or expected. Write what in your current life is an independent stressor. Focus on solving the things in your current life, bit by bit, each at the same time, with whatever help from friends you get. Listen only to yourself for decisions, but never think the burden is just yours, don't think either you or others are not capable of carrying it. Change your environment if possible. Give yourself some self esteem and agency.

Do NOT take medication yet. Only take medication if you've gotten to the point where you plan to kill yourself. Medication IS ALMOST NEVER THOUGHT OF as a cost-benefit approach, because the objective of psychiatric therapy is to return to function in society, not to fulfill your life. SSRIs can dull permanently your ability to feel excitement and that's the ONE thing you will need to keep going. This is like asking for a prosthetic arm just because it looks cool, it will never be as good as your real limb.

>I rot at home
I won't read self-inflicted problem threads.
