How do you deal with the fact that you're getting older and that all your favorite games are 15 years or older now? My favorite games are
>Left 4 dead 2
>Team Fortress 2
>Minecraft
>Portal 2
I feel like I'm having an existential crisis and just wish I could go back to when their games were newer. 26 years old.

embrace the unc.
>>
I feel completely indifferent. My favorite game is from 98 I think.
>>
>>34259644
Play more games.
>>
>>34259644
There are more games out there than you can play as well as other hobbies. Your problem is that you are obsessed with the past, most likely because you haven’t really done anything with your life.
>>
>>34259644
That is the most depressing favorite games list I have ever read lol
>>
>>34260044
What new games should I play?
>>
>>34259644
>>34260045
This. I love TF2 as well, and I’m 30, but I also have other hobbies and don’t spend most of my time playing video games like I did in my teens and early twenties.
>>
>>34260045
I work a part time job now and making money for myself. I've also been going to college. The thing is, all these games haven't really gone out of vogue in the public consciousness. They're still immensely popular and played games so I haven't felt the need to branch out.
>>
>>34261461
I don't spend much time playing video games either. I mostly just sit around and just watch videos or try role-playing I guess. I didn't play a video game for like 3 years last time.
>>
>>34261462
Where’s the problem? I think you might be living in a bit of a bubble if you seriously think that any of those games aside from Minecraft are really that popular these days.
>>
>>34261463
>I mostly just sit around and just watch videos
Well, that’s no good. You spend too much time alone on the internet, probably.
>>
>>34261465
Left 4 dead 2 is more popular than when I played it as a kid. It used to get 8 to 10k daily players. Now it gets as high as 34k sometimes during weekends. Portal 2 still averages 1.5k to 2k players with tons of mods, fangames etc that are still in development right now. Team Fortress 2 just got TF2c. All of these games are popular as fuck still.

How can you even have an existential crisis at 26? it's not a milestone age, you can't possibly have consumed all the content from 40 years ago, there is still some sense of wonder out there. Come back when you have exhausted all the vidya, all the movies on tv, all the anime on /a/, all history on /his/, all the biology on /an/, all the geography on /out/.

Do more things dude, and do them with people. And don't do them so fast either. dread is real and it has to do with how fast you speedrun this life
>>
>>34261471
Actually I've seen it get as high as 40k or more during free weekends or steam sales too.
>>34261467
I'm mostly alone in my room except for when I go to work. But other than that, not much else.
>>
>>34261471
In the grand scheme of things, no, they are not. The L4D2 multiplayer community has also always been insane in my experience lol

You need to spend less time alone in front of the computer.
>>
>>34261471
>Team Fortress 2 just got TF2c.
Erm ackshually I played that five years ago. It’s only just now on Steam.
>>
>>34261478
I literally just gave you the numbers and showed that they're still popular. You have nothing.
>>
>>34261478
Portal 2 just got a switch release like 3 years ago.
>>
>>34261484
I had some advice at the end of my post that you should seriously consider, /v/ro.
>>
>>34261495
I don't have anything else to do
>>
>>34261504
Bullshit. Go find something. Anything.
Read a book.
>>
>>34261456
Im playing lords of the fallen 2023 and i love it to death.

>>34261519
Nothing else is stimulating enough for me.
>>
>>34261478
So he shows you that you're wrong and your response is to tell him to get off the computer? kek

vampire survivors

I love video games, but that’s sad.

You seem very gay OP

I deal with it by not caring about video games.
>>
>>34261472
One thing this thread is neglecting to mention is that an overemphasis on pop culture and the internet intrinsically makes you feel old.
Shit that is barely even a decade old is being given the nostalgia treatment, you're constantly sharing a space with people fawning over the hot new thing and they're all younger than you. Nothing stays at the forefront of the public conscience for long and the solution is >>34259654
Don't give a shit about what's new and hip, enjoy the shit that makes you happy.

Is there anything to distinguish it from the other Souls clones? I played the original and it was okay and the newer one seemed interesting.

Its a ps5 game so it looks incredible, none of the souls games are just on current gen. Its theme is very religious so its got a neat look. And its super easy to re spec and change weapons. And i think its easier than most souls games so its not maddeningly frustrating. Im like 40 hours in and almost at the end.
>>
>>34266636
Oh, the main unique thing about this is theres like this hell version of the world. Its just the same map but with a bunch of freaky shit all over the place and a few different platforms and treasures and unique demonsthat are just there and increase in amount the longer you're there. You go there when you die, so its like a second chance, or you can go there whenever you want by hitting two buttons to do puzzles. Or just looking at it by holding up your lamp. Its a really cool concept.

When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.

>>34259644
I still play Sven Coop.

All my favorite games are at least 10 years old. No shame when video games keep getting worse.
