Should I seriously consider this? Not a NEET, but I'm 24 and have debt, and my current job is dead end with little pay.
>>34260855yeah unironically. people overestimate how bad it is because "le evil imperializm" and "muh die for israel" but its basically summer camp with more yelling
If you go into the military, do your best to land a job that'll transfer to civilian work. Some guys even become civilians and keep doing their job as a DoD contractor, double the pay and zero military BS.Also if you meet a recruiter, take everything they say with a fistful of salt, they always like to give you the Best Case Scenario but that frequently won't happen
6 years army. Depends on what you do. Unfortunately as a general rule the jobs with the most marketability outside of the military usually have long training requirements (TRADOC sucks balls) and longer active duty requirements along with it. At 24 a 6 year contract means your ETS would be at age 30. Life slows down at that age. Hard. Getting out of bed. Your knees and back hurt all the time. The dating market is going to shift pretty radically for you in the next few years. You’re going to be looking at a lot of single moms after 28. If you’re okay with that whatever but be warned. My advice? Go Air Force. Better living conditions. More girls. Professionalism is the standard vs taking abuse for the sake of taking abuse. Do a 4-6 year contract. If you’re smart enough to qualify for intel or communications do that. Gucci desk gigs and you can expect nice housing near a big city you can party in. If not look into aviation mechanics, air traffic control, or medical. Medical will get you a mixed bag of duty stations but you have a shot. Mechanics or ATC will get you money on the back end.
It's a tradeoff between your physical and mental health for a "decent" financial stability
do space force only if youre going enlisted. nothing else is really worth it.>but muuuh i want a legal way to kill people!1. no, thats a terrible want.2. you wont be killing people anyway fucking retard. unless you somehow make it into SOF, you wont. youll just be a POG with a lower quality of life compared to if you werent retarded.
>>34260892air force 1A8G (chinese) here. only do space force. cool boy points dont matter.
>>34260914ground is better anyways even though i got a shit lang
i personally consider everyone in military service as cattle
>>34260855No, it's not worth it. The US military doesn't serve the American people.>>34260995I don't tend to think very highly of them either. I haven't met very many kind people in our military that make me proud to be an American. Most of them strike me as opportunists and very greedy, selfish people.
>>34261060>Most of them strike me as opportunists and very greedy, selfish people.most of them joined to pay for college so I guess that is being opportunistic
>>34261101There are plenty of other ways to do that, so yes.
>>34260911Browns are not people
>>34260995Kind of a dumb analogy. I'm not in the military, but we civvies are cattle for the government. The military are their guard dogs, which is kind of better than being cattle. And I guess the only reason why they don't just take power from the fat Jews on top is because they are being nice, and because it's illegal I guess. But the natural state of humanity is military dictatorship, for obvious reasons.
>>34260855They don't want you. At 24 you are too adult, too formed. They only want kids they can shape into robots or cannon fodder.
>>34260855If you can pass the qualifying exam, neuro, pft, medicals and shit why not. You're career path is forever to be doomed as a NCO and you'd be the cumrag of officers from the service academies
>>34261244the natural state of advanced monkeys is military dictatorship. if we ever reach the point where we actually can call our species human we have to leave that behind. playing into a rotten system out of convenience makes you exactly that, rotten.
>>34260855If you're willing to kill people for money, consider ICE. All the violence with none of the marching and saluting.
>>34261993>They don't want you. At 24They take you to the age of 34, and up to 40 in certain circumstances.
>>34260855>Should I seriously consider this?Zogbot here. Seriously ask yourself these things:>can I wake up at 0500 and consciously force myself to be somewhere and begin strenuous physical exercise at that hour, every day for the next 4-6 years?>am I okay with not being allowed to travel or go anywhere, whenever I want?>am I okay with a limited paycheck, especially knowing work outside of military can pay the same, if not better?>am I okay with substandard healthcare?>am I okay with living with a stranger, a roommate until I can make rank?>am I okay with being sent overseas to some foreign land with worse living conditions for 9-month long stretches or more at a time every other year?>am I okay with reduced or no internet at all for 9-month long or longer stretches at a time?>am I okay with controlled diet, devoid of any junk food or excess food or risk being dismissed from the military?>can I single-handedly defeat a soldier in hand-to-hand combat if needed?>am I willing to work 24/7 or within weird hours at any given moment when asked to?if you can answer these without any issues, I don't see why you can't enlist. I don't recommend it though, as the military you saw in movies or documentaries no longer exist. It is all being ran by toxic, or psychopathic people you probably don't want to be associated with.
>>34263195I'm in the chair force and almost none of these apply to me
>>34260855join the coast guard. You get BAH at E-4 and you don't have to go on BS deployments. Looking back it would have been a way better choice than the Marines.
>>34260856Found the recruiter.
>>34262511Yes, they'll take you. But they don't want you
>>34264746It's never very hard to in these kinds of threads. Sometimes they're the OP.
>>34260855Not OP but had this question as well. Thoughts on joining the air force in your mid 20's to learn transferable trade skills? My biggest concern is I'll be almost 30, less attractive, and being a slave to the state for 4 years with no agency sounds grim and sad.Would my career growth change meaningfully enough to justify giving away my freedom for 4 years?
>>34260856>its basically summer camp with more yellingMost accurate description of Little St. James Island ever.
39 former navy zogbot here, done it all, enlisted, rotc, officer, DoD civilian and contractorin short, military opens a ton of opportunity and give you financial stability, lots of experiences and friends also, the price is time and putting up with bullshitI’ve invested over a million, get $2k/mo in VA gibs, got two master degrees on GI bill and rotc paid my undergrad, have a clearance that gets me a comfy and easy $150k 40hr job, I can also get preferred hiring for gov jobsThe benefits are there but you will spend 4-6 years minimum putting up with bsGo Air Force or army cyber, do the technical jobs with a high security clearance
>>34265716>Would my career growth change meaningfully enough to justify giving away my freedom for 4 years?it depends. Have you researched what jobs you could see yourself working where enlisting would secure you better chances? Last I did this, I looked up contractor or engineering jobs where a secret clearance and job knowledge/skills would be beneficial like >>34265728 said. Something like working for a defense product company, specializing in ballistic missile tech could really use former military with job placement like air defense, aircraft maintenance, cyber, logistics and the like. If you end up doing something retarded like HVAC, file clerk, etc that's on you. I would say that you would have wasted all that time for nothing. Make sure you have a plan and use the military as a means to get there.
>>34266578>If you end up doing something retarded like HVAC...that's my only transferable skill. I haven't been able to land a job in my neighborhood for almost a year even though I have certs and experience at a vocational school.pretty soon, I'm gonna have to go back to working retail. And everywhere I read, all the unions in neighboring towns are also turning most people away. I honestly don't think I have any career prospects outside of the military. I answered some practice asvab questions on their website and got about 75 percent of them right. Could I get placed in a decent position with that score?
>>34260892>>34260855>>34260856That guy think we’re fucking stupid! Is this what the al mighty US Departement of Defense is reduced? Ruinning Movies with useless war propaganda isn’t enough! You guys have to come lurking for some losers like us on this forum? If you people like killing for "freedom" so much, why don’t you use your freedom to kill yourself?
>>34260855>considering becoming cattle and having the military/gov own you
>>34267461you are already cattle tax nigger, you pay their wages which are higher than average for goy jobs. They are the wardens in the prison
>>34267388ESL post, they don't let illegals enlist anyway carlos I don't know what you're complaining abt. Military don't care about freedom we're here to get our bag and get out, money is the incentive.
>>34260892>Life slows down at that age. Hard. Getting out of bed. Your knees and back hurt all the timelol Only to fags who don't take care of their body >dating market is shit Truth. My autistic ass was drowning in quality pussy (that I failed to hit), now it's just fat, ugly or single mothers.
>>3426679339 anon here, HVAC is fine and has viable off-ramps but the ceiling for post military pay and options is lower, I started off as a navy enlisted machinist and HVAC tech on ships, lots of my enlisted buddies got out and went into the trades as an experienced journeyman, decent salary and job availability, but after 4 years you will have the GI Bill and can get a degree for free while getting a housing allowance, so it’s best to try and get a white collar job, either way the military can set you up, if you get even a secret clearance you can also do cleared HVAC contract jobs, which is always in demand and can travel to lots of interesting places with good per diem (daily $ for food/hotel etc., $200/day with hotel reimbursed for a month long gig in Bahrain, on top of your regular pay, for example)
Why do these zogbots brag about being put through humiliation rituals in basic training.Psyops to pit recruit against one another through collective punishment and say it's for team accountability and discipline. I don't get it. To have a free country, it has to be run by mentally deafeated slaves?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWUpb0vh7JM
>>34268537this is like 1-2 months of your entire career and no one is at all "changed" or "brainwashed" by basic training, and if you are it quickly gets bullied out of you by the normal people you work with when you hit your first unit.If anything basic/boot is just a glorified hazing ritual to get rid of anyone who realized they aren't cut out for it, and to get used to the feeling of being gone from family for a while.I swear the real military is just like any other normal job, you people are so brainraped you actually think none of these people are normal or making personal sacrifices or challenging themselves to improve their lives. People join because the military is probably the only medium to go from lower to middle class that actually works consistently anymore. The military has done more for me than any family or friend or school or institution ever will, go AF tho this shit is comfy
>>34263195>can I single-handedly defeat a soldier in hand-to-hand combat if needed?US military barely teaches you hand-to-hand combat. The logic is you shouldn't be separated from your weapon anyways, which makes sense.A bunch of drunk Navy Seals once went into Chuck Lidell's bar and tried to fight him. They all got their asses kicked.
>>34260892>more girlsyeah cuz I want a military woman LOLthe biggest turbo sluts ever conceived.
considering air force or french foreign legionI just want to know how to do combat before I turn 40. I figure I've not done that much career wise.
>>34269984foreign legion is for actual fuckup criminals and people who need to dissapear, just go AF lol
>>34269978HOT
>>34270068namefag into the most ran through women on the planet, who would have guessed desu
>>34269930https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE3b_lGQS_cgetting bitched out by physical and likely mentally inferior women and not correcting it means you have the obedient dog gene. It's funny because in the video most of the sergeants are the women but all the female recruits are flopping, crying, and shitting themselves. So you as a man are being shrieked at and by incompetent girls who barely pass basic training and the only reason they get away with being incompetent is because they can never get called out on it since they are higher in rank. Microcosm of the US military I guess. Golem and master. And normal jobs don't own your life for 4 years.
>>34265728how's subic bay faggot?
