For real though, I don't think there's any shame in buying people. Your wealth is your biggest advantage but you don't want to use it to achieve your goals "because reasons". Go to a poor country and buy a friend.For real though, friendship across social classes is very difficult because it always leads to awkward situations. Like, you'll never understand the joy of seeing butter on discount, and your friend won't be able to just casually go to Himalayas for a weekend. Knowing this, I highly recommend you to stick to similar high-earners, unless you want to be someone's sugar daddy. And to be clear, per previous paragraph I don't see anything wrong with that, it's just that it's not everyone's cup of tea, and it's a difficult dynamic to maintain without either side feeling bad about it.And besides this, friendship has always been very difficult. My advice is to do things where you naturally meet lots of people. Invite people to do stuff. Yes, most of this time will suck. Yes, most people are idiots at best and snakes at worst. But the only way to mine gold is to dig through dirt.

There's also the silent understanding of the resentment around political correctness; we can still call eachother retards and have laugh while also holding respect for people who are legitimately delayed. A lot of guys are so used to working with new people that they just flat out skip the awkward friendly phase and jump straight to being themselves at their weirdest, so you learn quick who you gel with.I was very introverted and very nerdy before picking up a wrench, admittedly I still am but blue collar work really helped me come out of my shell. It woke up a switch in my brain, now I can turn the charisma on whenever I feel like it. I don't plan to fuck around with sparks gears and crawlspaces forever but I wouldn't trade away my time doing it for anything.
