The world of adults is really phony. I started working last year and I finally got to understand what that guy Holden Caulfield was saying. Everyone lies and sucks up to people to their own advantage, especially the boss. You have to learn to put a good face on people who are boring or annoying. Also people are fucking assholes for no reason. I mean the boss was a fucking cunt and everyone just sucked up to her and put on with her bullshit for her money. How can someone live with themselves knowing everyone just likes them for their money? I guess I've been living in a bubble so I don't understand these things. I genuinely feel like a child among these idiots. I just dont have those skills to suck up to people and pretend like i'm interested in them when I'm not but my job requires me to do it. How do you learn these social skills? I feel like I want to kill myself when I pretend liking someone I don't genuinely. Also I have the social skills of a 15 year old with asperger

You can start by making more interesting threads

>Holden Caulfield
Your mind is infected with memes that will guarantee your unhappiness.

Yup I don't long for my highschool days but I do miss how everyone is on an equal playing field. Like rich people get bullied the same as normal people if they're losers. Funny people are funny, smart people are smart... etc. In the adult world people expect you to suck up to people with resources and 3/10 women magically become solid 7s and 8's and as a guy you can win at life easymode by moneymaxxing.

It's a dual stratified society. There's these "normal people" where money is everything, and then there's old school boomer types that have surprisingly normal values like "family" and stuff. The money minders like to infiltrate all the time and pretend to be normal. They say things like "everyone has a price." Just don't expect much out of them.

You just see through the bullshit and have trouble accepting that everyone just goes along with it. I'm the same. It just means you're a genuine person. After a while, I learned to just go with it when it's needed. I hate the fake pretend stuff. It's like everyone's playing along, following a script but not saying what they really feel.
It's better to stop thinking too much and just go with it, you'll be happier. I kind envoy people for who it comes naturally, but I couldn't be friends with them, I tend to surround myself with people who think similarly about these things.

Holden wasn’t an example of how you’re supposed to think. The book is an illustration of a person who is not well adjusted and has delusions about the real world. The story can teach you something about yourself but it’s clear that Holden is lost.

Yes, he is. He is literally me. So is Henry Chinaski.

Yeah my main issue with the adult world is you have to cater and listen to faggots you never would of given the day to in high school. And God forbid you're under some loser getting his first taste of power.

Never argue with the person who pays your bills.

He's right though, adults are really fake. Part of growing up is learning to just deal with it

Being fake doesn’t make them evil. If everyone is fake to a certain extent, then it’s just a flaw and we should look past that flaw in each other.

Yup and these people seek out jobs where they can ruin your day if you don't "respect their authority" or treat them like they are so very special. The best thing you can do is ignore them or give them an imagined victory so they leave you alone.

The great contradiction with the human system is that success is measured at the individual level, but to be successful you need to genuinely like other people. But it you only ever interact with people in a competitive environment you're gonna come away thinking everyone around you is a sociopath.

Yep, i'm looking for work elsewhere because boomers are actually just retarded grifters who convince people they have value and use that percieved value to secure their position and leave you to rot.
My advice? Self research so that you have the upper hand since no one will every teach you
