Genuinely it feels like I've never actually learned how to take care of myself or participate in the act of self-care. Whether it be hygiene, diet, exercise, freetime, sleep, I just never seem to get any of it right and it causes me to feel largely inconsistent often. I've gotten so bad that I've weakened my own pelvis due to sitting when I am working and sleeping when I am out of work and currently I'm having some sort of digestive issue which is making part of my abdomen hurt as well as part of my butt (I assume this is what IBS is? Will bring it up at my next physical). My skin is awful, I tend to not brush my teeth twice a day, and of course I am a bit overweight.
So does anyone have any advice for me at all? It can be basic and a no-brainer and assume I am starting from zero.

>do just 20 mins on a stationary bike every couple days
>skin care routine. a facial cleanser, and moisturizer afterwards at minimum
>cut down sodapop and sweets consumption
>actively look at your appearance and see what needs work. Is you hair too long and needs a cut? are you fat? do you look trashy in your clothes selection? take care of those things!

Thank you. I think I get in my head about being perfect about it, but to me that sounds pretty good as a starting point. Like if I want to diet, it's never just starting with cutting out sweets, it's me needing to eat specific things.
Also I am now realizing that I haven't gone clothes shopping in like 7 years, I pretty much just wear what I get from gifts and that's it.

Build routines. How you wake up sets the tone of the day - don't have your phone by the bed, wake up, get dressed, have a tea/coffee/whatever and relax while you drink. Think about what you'd like to get done that day, brush your teeth, then go do it. When you have free time, research simple healthy meals. Practice making them. Go for a walk every day. Walk around the house every hour, if you've been sitting or laying too much.
It's less important and helpful to introduce a ton of new things/tasks at once, you'll have greater long-term success if you take what you already do and add structure and reliability to your day. Checklists of things that need to be done (brushing teeth, exercise, showering, washing dishes, etc.) are helpful. The routine of writing a fresh one every morning, and then the little dopamine hit as encouragement when you check it off, reinforces building healthy habit. Those dry erase boards stuck to the fridge are good.

Do you have any recommendations for meals?

nta but a sandwich helps, a bit of meat, carb and fiber to keep you going. easiest shit you can buy off 711 or a gas station. cooking sucks when you work a 9-5

Short answer: "Eat food, not to much, mostly plants"
Longer answer: The more processed a food is, the less food-like it is and the less healthy it is. That to many calories are bad for your body. That humans are omnivores and should be eating more plant calories then animal calories.

Sure. I cook a lot and try to prioritize whole foods and minimize effort/time it takes to cook them. I also eat the same thing every morning, and make enough of dinner to have lunch the next day.
Start with what you can already manage and go from there - what can you cook now? What do you like or dislike?
Bacon & eggs, or a quality bread loaf (not sandwich bread) toasted with goat cheese & pate for breakfast.
For dinner, roasting vegetables is very easy. Just toss in butter or avocado oil, season with salt, maybe pepper and garlic powder too. Pair with meat of your choice - like salmon or chicken seasoned with salt, pepper & thyme. Done in pan or in the oven - cooking times & temps are easy to find online.
There's so many recipes online...if you can follow instructions and set a timer, you'll do just fine!

Thanks anon. I don't really like eggs, but I find that more and more it's probably in my best interest to force myself to like them since they are universally seen as a good food item.

>how do I wipe my own ass?

You know exactly what to do and you just don’t bother

>How the fuck do I "take care" of myself?
Make a checklist with the advice that was written in this thread, stick it to a wall where you can see it and follow it to the letter.
