Hi I want to go university and I have an idea of how I'll achieve it please could you talk to me because I don't know if I should attend a university abroad or a local university please can we have a conversation?
>>34276751Talk to your school counsellor or a favorite teacher, who will know what's best in your particular situation.
>>34276751Are you this guy?:>>34268682
>>34276751It depends on where you are from, what you want to study, and what you can afford. Look up different programs to do some research.
>>34276751look up their syllabi; they are on one of the university's websites. If you don't know how to find them, contact the universitygenerally contacting the university is your best friend when it comes to getting to know how uni is
>>34277921i'm mentioning syllabi because you might want to gauge what's in those courses before you actually enroll on them
>>34277736Yes>>34277764I'm from the UK I want to study computer science
>>34278627Why do you want to study abroad? Oxbridge itself offers good computer science programs.
>>34278653Realistically I am not smart enough for Oxbridge
>>34278627If you’re a home student you would be paying half the tuition fees that international students do and you can still get into a good cs program in most russel group universities. I got into Queen Mary through clearing after I didn’t meet the predicted grades in my conditional offer and got A*AA on results day. Just go for a local uni, it’s easier and less expensive.
>>34278683I would honestly suggest you just start educating yourself if you want to be a computer scientist. If there's something you want to build, start preparing to build it. If you purely want to learn, start learning. Saying you're too dumb for Oxbridge that probably means you probably don't have a lot of support. You might have to learn to find inner peace and build a community outside of university. There are tons of subjects in computer science, from grand design industry issues all the way down to building a higher fidelity graphics engine. The best thing you could do is start learning something that interests you, and getting into the habit of setting and achieving goals. If you want to grind through a program and be just qualified enough to get rejected from 200+ jobs and be lucky to get whatever bullshit job you hate, go to local uni. If you have tons of support and mommy and daddy are going to hold your hand while you do whatever you want, go to oxford.
