Hello i am anon and this is my story.I am 20 yo, always felt ashamed about intimacy in its whole matter. I feel ashamed in talking to a woman and i dont know why. The sole thought of being loved by a girl makes me feel weird, like a thing that is not possible. It happened once but i realised she was in love with what she believed i was and not the real me and i moved on.Developing this issue made me a porn addict, i'm searching that lack of connection i have with people of the opposite sex, at least i think so. This goes on from when i was 15, and it worsened my confidence and general will to talk and go have fun in social gathers.I masturbate to most normal things 90% amateur stuff, but recently i started to jack off to more violent porn, i'm talking about slaps in the face, light chocking ecc.My addiction doesn't make me blind enough to not see this as a problem. And im willing to accept any help if someone relates to me and wants to give some advice.I want to quit this for good now that i got a promotion at work where i'll have to be a manager on a project. You have a high sex drive like all normal men your age. If you can't live out your fantasies in real life you look at a screen depicting what you want instead because it's the closest you'll get to your real desire. We are visual creatures after all it's nothing to be ashamed of. What people will typically say is you should stop because it's bad for your health, self image et cetera. But they never offer an alternative. Why would anyone use porn in the first place? Because in the moments preceding the use it seems like the best alternative they have. Unless you can find something more fulfilling the answer will be porn. I don't and I doubt anyone else knows what that fulfilling activity may be for you. Just be honest with yourself. I know how you feel. I wish we lived in the 1950's where most guys had decent wives and had a positive outlook on the future, but let's be real this is a different time. The elite neglecting us is not your fault. If it helps you cope I say go ahead, and if you find something you'd rather do that's even better of course, but I don't see why you should be so hard on yourself. You're judging yourself by past standards when you don't have to. If society were to judge women by past standards a lot of them would probably be shamed into committing suicide. The world is changing. You just have to adapt to the best of your ability and do your part.
