hey, if you could share some intersting ideas on things to do in my free time i'd appreciate it a lot

even if it's just stuff to read about, there is so much information out there that i don't know what and where to look for

you should have four hobbies. one where you compete, one where youre in a community, one where you consume, and one where you create. examples of competitive hobbies are sports and games of course, but also contests like bot building or competitive programming hobbies that have community overlap a lot with community ones, but also things like dnd or volunteer work. going to events that your local coffee shop advertises and concerts and all that. okay, consumption is easy. movies books comics collecting concerts cds vinyl so on so forth. then create has plenty of options, drawing painting photography writing carpentry welding carving clay throwing and the list continues.

hope this helps :)

If you want to be practical I suggest sewing. You don't need a machine, start with "visible mending" for clothes, and handsewing small functional items like coasters, coin pouches, etc. it's meditative and cathartic. Good for gifts in a pinch too!

Language learning, use Anki! Get into Touhou, get into reading about some weird political ideology, get into reading up on entomology or ichtyology, get into patches, so much to do but with so little funds sadly.

Pick up an instrument and you can check all four boxes at once
