Would "I was caring for my family and my disabled veteran father (he is 100% disabled certified) and my severely autistic brother" work?Would it also help if I say I am a freelance artist and took commissions for 3D art and made NDAs and if they asked for further information, I showed them my personal art?
>>34325912Your trouble is going to be getting in the door if you have a 7 year gap. I would put down on your resume that you were a 3D freelance artist first and taking care of your family second during the interview. I would not hold back your personal work, put together a portfolio if you can. LinkedIn is a good free option. But make sure you get your story straight if you do lie or stretch the truth. When did you start taking care of your family? Who took care of your brother before you? Why did they stop? What is physically wrong with them that you couldn't work? What type of projects did you work on? What industry? You should build a whole story in your head, not because everything you invent will come up but because you don't know what will come up and this will keep it consistent, and keep you confident.

>>34325967Would the excuse of "I was a full time student in college" work? I genuinely had 3 free years of community college and 3 years of GI bill given to me
>>34325912You explain it with the truth and if they don't like that then oh we'll figure something out. Don't be a liar and if you're gonna lie you might as well scam or sell drugs or something.
>>34325984Yes of course, being a student is valid to put on your resume. Honestly I didn't even finish my college course, only went for 2 years. I put the years and program down and most people assume I finished.
>>34325992It depends how bad it was. If you're a recovering NEET for 7 years, lie. It's a doggy dog world out there, you have to do what you have to do. Don't turn into a monster, but don't moralfag yourself into a homeless person.
>>34325912I had this dilemma recently as a NEET that waited way too long to get my life together and I just made up a job history until I built up a real one. Assuming you're just applying for entry level shit and not something that requires a lot of relevant experience.
>>34326149Basically just do this. Some companies will check, some don't. But it's so much better than coming from the position of explaining yourself.
>>34325912I had a 5 year gap in my resume and it was jamming a lot of my job applications so I started doing volunteering. If you've done at least something recently and can put it on your resume it indicates that you are an active worker and no longer in the red flag NEET catatonic state
>>34325912You don't
Just lie on your fuckin resume bro. If I knew you personally I would happily be your "coworker" that worked at X company for Y years with you.>b-b-b-b-ut that's fraudCome arrest me then faggot because if so then I will start applying for welfare because society has proven they do not want me to have a job.t. lied on my resume and got multiple jobs and did better at them than people with better resumes.
